沈阳音乐学院是中国东北地区唯一一所历史悠久、具有光荣传统的高等音乐、舞蹈艺术院校。其前身可追溯至1938年由毛泽东、周恩来等老一辈无产阶级革命家在延安倡导建立的鲁迅艺术学院，1958年正式更名为沈阳音乐学院。学院以本科与研究生教育为主体，形成了以主校区为中心，南校区、桃仙校区、大连校区为支撑的办学格局，构建了教学、科研、创作和艺术实践四位一体的教育体系。

Shenyang Conservatory of Music is the only long-established higher education institution for music and dance art with a glorious tradition in Northeast China. Its predecessor can be traced back to the Lu Xun Academy of Arts, founded in 1938 in Yan'an under the initiative of revolutionary elders such as Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai. It was officially renamed Shenyang Conservatory of Music in 1958. With undergraduate and graduate education as its main focus, the college has formed a school-running pattern centered on the main campus and supported by the South Campus, Taoxian Campus, and Dalian Campus, establishing an integrated education system of teaching, scientific research, creation, and artistic practice.

学院现有16个教学单位和2个附属中等专业学校，开设19个本科专业，其中作曲与作曲技术理论、音乐表演、舞蹈表演和音乐学为国家级一流本科专业建设点。拥有艺术学一级学科和音乐、舞蹈两个专业学位授权点，是国家大学生文化素质教育基地、全国学校艺术教育工作先进单位，被辽宁省人民政府确定为重点建设院校。

The college currently has 16 teaching units and 2 affiliated secondary professional schools, offering 19 undergraduate majors. Among them, Composition and Composition Technology Theory, Music Performance, Dance Performance, and Musicology are national first-class undergraduate major construction sites. It has a first-level discipline in Arts and two professional degree authorization points in Music and Dance. It is a national college student cultural quality education base, an advanced unit of national school art education work, and has been identified as a key construction institution by the Liaoning Provincial People's Government.

学院重视国际交流与合作，已与69个国外艺术院校和艺术团体建立友好关系，其中与德国斯图加特音乐学院、美国伊斯曼音乐学院等19所高等音乐院校签订友好合作协议。学院先后成立青年交响乐团、民族管弦乐团等多个艺术表演团体，培养了大批优秀音乐舞蹈人才，创作了《黄河大合唱》《我和我的祖国》等众多具有社会影响力的音乐作品。

The college attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, having established friendly relations with 69 foreign art institutions and art troupes, including signing cooperation agreements with 19 higher music institutions such as the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts in Germany and the Eastman School of Music in the United States. The college has successively established various artistic performance groups such as the Youth Symphony Orchestra and National Orchestra, cultivating a large number of outstanding music and dance talents, and creating many socially influential musical works such as "The Yellow River Cantata" and "My Motherland and Me".
