共生国际大学（被认定大学）是一所多学科大学，围绕多元文化与创新理念，为师生打造了充满活力的学习生态系统。1971年，S·B·穆君达尔教授基于“世界一家”的吠陀思想，创办了共生大学，旨在为非亚学生打造“家外之家”。学校致力于通过优质教育增进国际理解，吸引了来自多个国家的学生开展各类活动，彰显多元色彩。2002年，学校被印度人力资源开发部授予“被认定大学”地位。

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) is a multi-disciplinary university offering its students and faculty a vibrant learning ecosystem designed around its multi-cultural and innovative ethos. In 1971 Prof. Dr. S.B. Mujumdar established Symbiosis as a ‘home away from home’ for African Asian students on the principles of Vedic thought of "World as One Family". Symbiosis is committed to building international understanding by offering quality education, and is resplendent of the activities and students of several countries. It was given "Deemed to be University" status by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2002.

Today the university has 43 institutions at Pune, Nashik, Bengaluru, NOIDA, Hyderabad and Nagpur, and offers bachelors to doctoral programmes in Law, Management, Computer Studies, Health Sciences, Media & Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences, Engineering and Architecture & Design. All the university campuses epitomize the Symbiosis vision, 'Promoting International Understanding through Quality Education' and are a beehive of international students from all across the globe, being privy to Indian culture and hospitality.

The university is awarded the Category-I status by UGC, and reaccredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC. The university’s management, law and media institutes are ranked among the top 10 in the country.

近年来，为通过学术与研究持续回馈社会，学校先后成立了共生废物资源管理中心、共生干细胞研究中心、共生纳米科学与纳米技术中心、共生医学影像分析中心、共生行为研究中心以及共生应用人工智能中心。这些中心由各领域知名研究人员领衔，正朝着未来卓越中心的方向发展。

In its continuous pursuit of giving back to Society through academics and research, the university has established Symbiosis Centre for Waste Resource Management (SCWRM) and Symbiosis Centre for Stem Cell Research (SCSCR), Symbiosis Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology(SCNN) AND Symbiosis Center for Medical Image Analysis (SCMIA), Symbiosis Centre for Behavioural Studies (SCBS) and Symbiosis Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence (SCAAI) in past few years. These Centres are led by the researchers of repute in respective disciplines and are being developed as the Centres of Excellence of the future.

Continuously building innovative technologies in the teaching learning and evaluation process, enhancing research, encouraging innovation, empowering students to become entrepreneurs, and offering a holistic environment as a Health Promoting University, the university now looks forward to the next phase of growth. The Symbiosis University and Hospital Research Centre offers free medical treatment to the needy and the Symbiosis Medical College for Women will commence in 2020.
