Shaoyang Polytechnic is a public full-time ordinary higher education institution approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. It is a construction unit of Hunan Chuyi High-level Vocational School and a national demonstration training base for industry-education integration of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. 学校前身为1952年创办的邵阳市经贸学校、1979年的机电工程学校和1957年的农业学校，2003年三校合并组建为高职院校。现设有电梯工程学院、汽车与智能制造学院等10个教学院部，开设机电一体化技术、电梯工程技术、动物医学等26个专业，其中国家级重点支持专业9个，省级重点项目60项，形成以先进装备制造、互联网+与财经专业为骨干的专业格局。

Founded through the merger of Shaoyang Economic and Trade School (established 1952), Shaoyang Mechanical and Electrical Engineering School (1979), and Shaoyang Agricultural School (1957), the college was restructured into a higher vocational college in 2003. It now comprises 10 teaching units including the College of Elevator Engineering and College of Automotive and Intelligent Manufacturing, offering 26 programs such as Mechatronics Technology, Elevator Engineering Technology, and Veterinary Medicine. The college boasts 9 national key-supported programs and 60 provincial key projects, forming a discipline framework centered on advanced equipment manufacturing, internet+ and finance-related majors.

校园占地面积426880平方米，总建筑面积203565平方米，教学仪器设备总值6500余万元，馆藏图书41.62万册。现有教职工458人，专兼职教师394人，在校学生12000余人。学校推行"产教融合、校企合作"模式，与三一重工、中联重科等企业共建实训基地，实施"订单式"培养，先后获评湖南省文明高校、就业先进单位等荣誉称号。

The campus covers an area of 426,880 square meters with a total construction area of 203,565 square meters. Teaching equipment is valued at over 65 million yuan, and the library holds 416,200 books. The college employs 458 staff members including 394 full-time and part-time teachers, with over 12,000 enrolled students. Adopting an "industry-education integration, school-enterprise cooperation" model, it has established training bases with enterprises like Sany Heavy Industry and Zoomlion, implementing "order-based" talent cultivation. The college has been awarded titles such as Hunan Civilized College and Advanced Employment Unit.
