The university has six teaching Schools, including the School of Civil Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, School of Vocational Education, School of Management Science and Technology, School of Mechanical Engineering, and School of Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering. It offers over 30 undergraduate and master's programs covering engineering, computer science, energy and environment, bioengineering, etc. The research system consists of six departments such as Urban Environment and Technology, Systems Engineering, and Information and Communication Technology. Leveraging Hamburg's advantages as a port city, it has developed distinctive research strengths in shipbuilding, environmental technology, and logistics.
