天津市职业大学始建于1978年，前身为南开大学第二分校、天津大学化工分校，是全国最早举办高等职业教育的院校之一，为首批28所“国家示范性高等职业院校建设计划”立项建设单位，2019年入选“双高计划”高水平院校A档建设单位。学校坚持“服务为本，应用为根，质量立身，卓尔不群”的办学理念，秉承“育德育能，力实力新”的校训，现有北辰、海河园两个校区，下设12个学院和2个教学部，与多所本科院校联合开设7个本科专业，培养应用型、高端技能型人才。

Tianjin Vocational University was founded in 1978, formerly known as the Second Branch of Nankai University and the Chemical Engineering Branch of Tianjin University. It is one of the earliest institutions in China to offer higher vocational education, and was among the first 28 institutions approved for the "National Demonstrative Higher Vocational College Construction Plan". In 2019, it was selected as a Tier A construction unit for high-level institutions under the "Double High-Level Plan". Adhering to the educational philosophy of "Service-oriented, Application-rooted, Quality-based, and Excellence-driven" and the school motto of "Cultivating Morality and Ability, Striving for Strength and Innovation", the university has two campuses (Beichen and Haihe Park), 12 colleges, 2 teaching departments, and jointly offers 7 undergraduate programs with several universities to cultivate applied and high-end skilled talents.

学校教学科研实力雄厚，拥有国家级教学成果一等奖2项、二等奖2项，天津市级教学成果一等奖10项、二等奖14项；建有全国职业院校增材制造技术应用中心等多个科技研发平台，专利授权1205项；眼视光技术、酒店管理等3个专业获批国家专业教学资源库建设立项，形成了“产教融合、校企合作”的鲜明办学特色，毕业生就业率连续多年保持在95%以上，为区域经济社会发展提供了有力的人才支撑。

The university boasts strong teaching and research capabilities, having won 2 first prizes and 2 second prizes in national teaching achievements, as well as 10 first prizes and 14 second prizes in Tianjin municipal teaching achievements. It has established multiple scientific research platforms such as the National Vocational College Additive Manufacturing Technology Application Center, with 1205 authorized patents. Three majors including Optometry Technology and Hotel Management have been approved for the construction of national professional teaching resource databases. With distinct characteristics of "industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation", the university has maintained a graduate employment rate of over 95% for many years, providing strong talent support for regional economic and social development.
