天津科技大学是天津市重点建设高校，是以工为主，工、理、文、农、医、经、管、法、艺等学科协调发展的多科性大学。学校创建于1958年，前身为天津轻工业学院，2002年更名为天津科技大学。学校坚持以立德树人为根本，以学科建设为龙头，以人才培养为核心，在长期的办学实践中形成了“坚持拓展轻工特色，精心培育行业中坚，矢志服务国计民生”的办学特色。

Tianjin University of Science and Technology is a key university in Tianjin. It is a multidisciplinary university with engineering as its main focus, and coordinated development of disciplines such as science, liberal arts, agriculture, medicine, economics, management, law, and art. Founded in 1958, the university was formerly known as Tianjin Institute of Light Industry and renamed Tianjin University of Science and Technology in 2002. Adhering to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, taking discipline construction as the leading role, and talent cultivation as the core, the university has formed the school-running characteristic of "persisting in expanding light industry characteristics, carefully cultivating industry backbones, and dedicated to serving the national economy and people's livelihood" in its long-term school-running practice.

学校现有滨海、河西两个校区，总占地面积约2300亩，校舍建筑面积90余万平方米。设有14个学院（部），拥有65个本科专业，3个一级学科博士学位授权点，21个一级学科硕士学位授权点，15个硕士专业学位授权类别。学校师资力量雄厚，现有教职工2000余人，其中专任教师1400余人，具有高级职称的教师占比超过50%。

The university currently has two campuses, Binhai and Hexi, covering a total area of about 2300 mu, with a school building area of more than 900,000 square meters. It has 14 colleges (departments), 65 undergraduate majors, 3 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 21 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 15 master's professional degree authorization categories. The university has a strong faculty, with more than 2,000 faculty members, including more than 1,400 full-time teachers, and more than 50% of the teachers have senior professional titles.
