The University of Córdoba (Universidad de Córdoba) is a modern public university located in Córdoba, southern Spain, officially established in 1972 with its roots tracing back to the Córdoba Free University founded in 1870. Renowned for its excellence in natural sciences, the university has an international reputation particularly in chemistry, biology, environmental sciences, and agricultural and forestry engineering. It also excels in health sciences, offering nursing and medical degree programs in close collaboration with the Reina Sofía University Hospital. The University of Córdoba has three main campuses: the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences & Law Campus in the city center, the Medical, Health, and Education Campus in the western part of the city, and the Rabanales Campus in the east, which focuses on technology and agri-food fields with advanced research and teaching facilities, making it one of the outstanding educational centers in Andalusia. The university comprises eight faculties and five colleges, offering diverse programs at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, including specialized disciplines such as veterinary medicine, oenology, translation studies, and green chemistry. In recent years, the university has enrolled over 20,000 students and a faculty team of more than 1,400, consistently ranking among the top research universities in Spain.
