The University of La Coruña (Universidad de La Coruña, UDC for short) is a public university located in the Galicia region of northwestern Spain. Formerly a campus of the University of Santiago de Compostela, it became an independent institution in July 1989, emerging as a dynamic young university. Its main campus, Elviña, is situated in the city of A Coruña—a coastal city known as the "Balcony of the Atlantic" with a pleasant climate, offering an excellent living and learning environment for students. The other campus, Esteiro, is located in the northwestern corner of Galicia, approximately 30 minutes by car from A Coruña.
