塞阿拉联邦大学（Universidade Federal do Ceará, UFC）成立于1955年，是巴西联邦政府创建的公立大学，直属巴西教育部，也是巴西最受尊敬的高等学府之一。该校主校区位于塞阿拉州首府福塔莱萨，同时在索布拉尔、巴巴利亚、鲁萨斯和基沙达设有分校区，拥有四个基础科学教育中心和五个专业学院，形成了覆盖全州的办学网络。

The Federal University of Ceará (Universidade Federal do Ceará, UFC) was founded in 1955. It is a public university established by the Brazilian federal government, directly under the Brazilian Ministry of Education, and is one of the most respected higher education institutions in Brazil. The main campus is located in Fortaleza, the capital of Ceará state, with additional campuses in Sobral, Barbalha, Russas, and Quixadá. It comprises four basic science education centers and five professional colleges, forming an educational network covering the entire state.

UFC is characterized by academic research and international cooperation. In 2016, it jointly established a Confucius Institute with Nankai University in China, having trained over 650 local teachers in Chinese, serving as a key platform for Sino-Brazilian educational and cultural exchanges. The university's disciplinary strengths lie in tropical medicine, fisheries science, agricultural engineering, etc. Its Food Science and Engineering program ranks in the 151-200 range globally, with Basic Medicine and Clinical Medicine also among the world's top disciplines. As of 2024, UFC has 40,364 students, 1,996 faculty members, and 256 international students, leading in per-student funding and research investment in northeastern Brazil.
