马来西亚理科大学（Universiti Sains Malaysia, 简称USM）成立于1969年，是马来西亚政府建立的第二所公立大学，也是该国五所研究密集型大学之一，2008年被教育部选为APEX（迈向卓绝计划）大学，致力于打造世界一流高等学府。

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), founded in 1969, is the second public university established by the Malaysian government and one of the country's five research-intensive universities. In 2008, it was selected by the Ministry of Education as an APEX (Accelerated Programme for Excellence) university, dedicated to becoming a world-class institution of higher learning.

The university has three campuses: the main campus on Penang Island, the Engineering Campus, and the Medical Campus, covering a total area of 15,000 acres. It comprises 28 colleges and 26 research centers, offering over 500 postgraduate programs at master's and doctoral levels. The student body exceeds 33,000, including undergraduates and postgraduates, with faculty members mostly educated in countries such as the US, UK, and Australia.

In terms of academic rankings, USM ranked 146th in the QS World University Rankings 2025 and 37th in Asia. Disciplines such as Pharmacy & Pharmacology and Education & Training are ranked among the top 100 globally. Its strengths lie in computer science, engineering, medicine, management, and social sciences, with an English-medium teaching environment and an international campus atmosphere.
