Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) was established on December 1, 2000, formerly known as Kolej Universiti Teknikal Kebangsaan Melaka. It was upgraded to a full university and renamed on February 1, 2007. As the 14th public higher education institution and the first technical public university in Malaysia, UTeM is renowned for its practice-oriented teaching model in engineering and technology education. The main campus is located in Durian Tunggal, Melaka, with additional city campus (central Melaka) and industrial campus (Ayer Keroh), covering a total area of 725 hectares. Campus facilities include libraries, laboratories, student dormitories, and multiple canteens, providing comprehensive academic and daily support.

The university comprises seven faculties specializing in engineering, information and communication technology, and management education: Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Manufacturing Engineering, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Faculty of Technical Management and Technopreneurship, and Faculty of Engineering Technology. It offers 38 undergraduate programs with key strengths in power systems, automation technology, embedded systems, and intelligent manufacturing.采用 small-class teaching with emphasis on practical skills development, its engineering programs are accredited by international bodies such as the Washington Accord and Germany's ASIIN.
