University of Aveiro (UA), founded in 1973, is one of the youngest public universities in Portugal, renowned for its innovative teaching, research excellence, and strong industry collaboration. Its main campus is located in Aveiro (known as the "Little Venice") in northwestern Portugal, with additional campuses in Águeda and Oliveira de Azeméis. UA boasts an overall employment rate of over 93%, with 99% in education-related fields. Internationally, it ranked 5th in Portugal (501-510th globally) in the 2023 QS World University Rankings, 4th in Portugal (201-220th globally) in QS Sustainability Rankings, and 3rd in Portugal (201-250th globally) in THE Young University Rankings.

Committed to internationalization, UA has partnerships with 963 universities worldwide and co-founded a Confucius Institute with Dalian University of Foreign Languages to promote Sino-Portuguese cultural exchange.
