The University of Bari Aldo Moro, founded in 1924, is a renowned public comprehensive university in Italy and one of the country's largest universities by student enrollment. It was ranked among Italy's top 20 universities in the world's top 500 (ARWU 2012). With its main campus in the southern port city of Bari and branch campuses in Taranto and Brindisi, the university originated from the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics and Trade, and Faculty of Agriculture established in October 1924, gradually expanding into a multidisciplinary institution after 1944.

Its agricultural, pharmaceutical, and medical programs are particularly prestigious in Italy and Europe. The campus is home to the world's only Baroque light sculpture art and collaborates with the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari and Polytechnic University of Bari to foster a vibrant academic and cultural environment in the city.

As the headquarters of the Association of Mediterranean Universities (a UNESCO-recognized supranational non-profit organization comprising 158 universities around the Mediterranean), the University of Bari actively promotes international cooperation and has established academic ties with institutions worldwide.
