北京科技大学成立于1952年，是一所以工为主，工、理、管、文、经、法等多学科协调发展的全国重点大学，是国家“双一流”建设高校、“211工程”重点建设高校和“985工程优势学科创新平台”建设高校。学校始终坚持立德树人根本任务，秉承“求实鼎新”的校训，为国家培养了大批德才兼备的优秀人才，在材料、冶金、矿业等领域形成了鲜明的学科优势和办学特色。

University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) was founded in 1952. It is a national key university with a focus on engineering, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines including science, management, liberal arts, economics, and law. It is a "Double First-Class" construction university, a key university under the "211 Project", and a "985 Project Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform" construction university. The university has always adhered to the fundamental task of cultivating virtues and talents, upholding the school motto of "Seeking Truth and Innovating", and has cultivated a large number of outstanding talents with both morality and ability for the country, forming distinct disciplinary advantages and school-running characteristics in fields such as materials, metallurgy, and mining.

学校拥有一支高水平的师资队伍，现有中国科学院院士、中国工程院院士16人，国家级教学名师、国家杰出青年科学基金获得者等各类高层次人才数百人。在教学方面，学校注重理论与实践相结合，积极推进教育教学改革，拥有国家级一流本科专业建设点40个，国家级精品课程、虚拟仿真实验教学中心等优质教学资源。科研实力雄厚，建有国家重点实验室、国家工程研究中心等国家级科研平台12个，近年来在新材料研发、节能减排、智能制造等领域取得了一系列重大科研成果。

The university has a high-level faculty, including 16 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and hundreds of high-level talents such as national famous teachers and winners of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund. In terms of teaching, the university focuses on integrating theory with practice, actively promotes education and teaching reform, and has 40 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, as well as high-quality teaching resources such as national excellent courses and virtual simulation experiment teaching centers. With strong scientific research strength, it has 12 national-level scientific research platforms including state key laboratories and national engineering research centers. In recent years, it has achieved a series of major scientific research results in the fields of new material research and development, energy conservation and emission reduction, and intelligent manufacturing.
