圣托马斯大学（University of Santo Tomas, UST）成立于1611年4月28日，是菲律宾历史最悠久的私立天主教大学，也是“菲律宾四大名校”之一。学校位于首都马尼拉三巴乐区，占地21公顷，校园建筑以欧洲古典风格为主，环境优美，文物古迹众多，2011年被菲律宾国家历史委员会列为国家历史地标。作为亚洲现存最古老的大学，其前身为培育教士的圣托马斯学院，1645年经罗马教皇升格为大学，1785年获西班牙国王授予“皇家大学”称号，历史上曾长期督导菲律宾全国教育体系。

The University of Santo Tomas (UST), founded on April 28, 1611, is the oldest private Catholic university in the Philippines and one of the "Big Four" universities in the country. Located in the Sampaloc district of Manila, the 21-hectare campus features European classical-style architecture, lush greenery, and numerous historical relics, designated as a National Historical Landmark by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines in 2011. As the oldest existing university in Asia, it originated as a seminary for training clergy, elevated to university status by Pope Innocent X in 1645, and granted the title "Royal University" by King Charles III of Spain in 1785. Historically, it supervised the entire Philippine education system for centuries.

UST offers programs across ten disciplines including humanities, history, philosophy, business, medicine, engineering, and arts, organized into 14 colleges with 68 undergraduate, 39 master's, and 20 doctoral programs, forming a complete educational pathway from bachelor to postdoctoral studies. Renowned across Southeast Asia for strengths in Fine Arts, Pharmacy, and Nursing, it emphasizes interdisciplinary teaching and practical orientation—for instance, its Fine Arts program features interdisciplinary workshops where students collaborate with Design and Architecture majors. The campus houses a major Southeast Asian academic library with 12,000 rare manuscripts, an affiliated teaching hospital, and multiple research institutes, hosting approximately 15,000 full-time students including over 800 international students from 30+ countries.
