南华大学船山学院成立于2001年，是经湖南省人民政府批准、国家教育部审核确认，由南华大学按新机制、新模式举办的全日制本科层次独立学院。学院坐落于湖南省衡阳市，依托南华大学优质教学资源办学，共享其一流的师资队伍、图书资料、教学设施和学科团队等资源，恪守“以人为本、质量立校、文化育人、能力立身”的办学理念，弘扬“明德、博学、求是、致远”的校训精神，致力于培养专业基础扎实、综合素质良好、实践能力强且具有创新精神的高级应用型人才，服务区域经济社会发展。

Chuanshan College of University of South China was founded in 2001. It is a full-time undergraduate independent college approved by the People's Government of Hunan Province and confirmed by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, operated by the University of South China under a new mechanism and model. Located in Hengyang City, Hunan Province, the college relies on the high-quality teaching resources of the University of South China and shares its first-class faculty, library materials, teaching facilities, and discipline teams. Adhering to the educational philosophy of "people-oriented, quality-oriented, culture-educated, and ability-based", and carrying forward the school motto of "Virtue, Erudition, Seeking Truth, and Aspiration", it is committed to cultivating high-level applied talents with solid professional foundations, good comprehensive qualities, strong practical abilities, and innovative spirits to serve regional economic and social development.

学院设有五系一部一中心，开设41个本科专业，涵盖理、工、医、文、法、艺术、经济与管理等8大学科门类。现有在校学生近6000人，教风严谨，学风良好，教育教学质量持续提升。近年来，学生积极参与中国青少年科技创新大赛、全国数学建模竞赛等各类学科竞赛和科技创新项目，共获得国家级、省级奖项400余个，人才培养质量稳步提高。

The college has five departments, one division, and one center, offering 41 undergraduate majors covering 8 disciplines including science, engineering, medicine, literature, law, art, economics, and management. There are nearly 6,000 students on campus, with a rigorous teaching style and a good learning atmosphere, and the quality of education and teaching continues to improve. In recent years, students have actively participated in various academic competitions and scientific and technological innovation projects such as the China Adolescent Science and Technology Innovation Competition and the National Mathematical Modeling Competition, winning more than 400 national and provincial awards, and the quality of talent training has been steadily improved.
