武汉工程科技学院（原中国地质大学江城学院）创办于2004年2月，是一所经教育部批准的全日制普通本科高校。2014年5月，教育部批准学校转制并更名为武汉工程科技学院，同年9月成为湖北省首批应用型人才培养试点高校。2023年4月，学校通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估。

Wuhan University of Engineering Science (formerly Jiangcheng College of China University of Geosciences) was founded in February 2004. It is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. In May 2014, the Ministry of Education approved the transformation of the school and renamed it Wuhan University of Engineering Science, and in September of the same year, it became one of the first pilot universities for applied talent training in Hubei Province. In April 2023, the university passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education.

学校坐落在武汉市江夏区青龙山麓，毗邻中国光谷，占地面积逾千亩，交通便捷，环境优雅。设有机械与工程学院、计算机与人工智能学院、经济与管理学院等6个二级学院，开设33个本科专业和13个专科专业，涵盖工、艺、管、教、文、经六大学科门类，形成以工为主、多学科协调发展的专业体系。现有全日制在校生17000余人，拥有一支业务精湛、经验丰富的师资队伍，并聘请海内外知名专家学者担任客座教授。

The university is located at the foot of the scenic Qinglong Mountain in Jiangxia District, Wuhan, adjacent to China Optics Valley, covering an area of over 1,000 mu. It enjoys convenient transportation and a pleasant environment. The university has 6 secondary colleges, including the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Computer and Artificial Intelligence, and the School of Economics and Management, offering 33 undergraduate programs and 13 junior college programs, covering six disciplines: engineering, art, management, education, literature, and economics. It has formed a discipline system with engineering as the main focus and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. Currently, it has more than 17,000 full-time students and a team of skilled and experienced teachers, and has invited well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad to serve as visiting professors.

学校坚持“质量立校、特色兴校、人才强校、依法治校”办学理念，以建设“湖北一流、全国知名的高水平应用型大学”为目标，创新推行“四育多元”人才培养模式和导师制全员育人机制。近年来获教育部产学合作协同育人项目、湖北省重点培育学科、荆楚卓越人才计划等多项省部级教学科研成果，学生在国家级、省级学科竞赛中屡获佳绩，毕业生就业率连续多年保持在全省同类高校前列。

Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "quality-oriented, characteristic development, talent-strengthening, and law-based governance", the university aims to build a "first-class in Hubei and nationally renowned high-level applied university". It has innovatively implemented the "four-education多元化" talent training model and the tutorial system for full-staff education. In recent years, it has obtained many provincial and ministerial-level teaching and research achievements such as the Ministry of Education's Industry-University Cooperation and Collaborative Education Project, Hubei Provincial Key Cultivation Discipline, and Jingchu Excellent Talent Program. Students have won many awards in national and provincial discipline competitions, and the employment rate of graduates has remained at the forefront of similar universities in the province for many years.

The university attaches importance to international education, carries out cooperation projects such as undergraduate-master direct admission and overseas classrooms with overseas universities, and has established a practice base for the United Nations Population Fund's "the Belt and Road" Youth Leadership Project to provide students with a diversified international exchange platform. Adhering to the school motto of "Morality, Erudition, Practice, and Innovation", it is committed to cultivating high-quality applied talents with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical education, aesthetics, and labor. It has been awarded the honorary titles of "China's High-Level Private University" and "Advanced Unit of Ideological and Political Education in Hubei Provincial Colleges and Universities".
