武汉传媒学院是2004年6月经教育部批准设立的全日制民办普通本科高等学校，前身为华中师范大学武汉影视工程学院，2016年转设为独立设置的武汉传媒学院。作为湖北省转型发展首批试点高校，学校以传媒特色立校，形成了文、艺、工、管等多学科协调发展的学科专业布局，现有32个本科专业，全日制在校生超1.2万人。

Wuhan University of Communication is a full-time private undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education in June 2004. Formerly known as Wuhan Film and Television Engineering College of Central China Normal University, it was renamed as an independent institution in 2016. As one of Hubei's first pilot universities for transformation and development, the university focuses on media-related disciplines with 32 undergraduate programs and over 12,000 full-time students, featuring coordinated development of arts, engineering, and management disciplines.

学校坐落于武汉光谷藏龙岛和孝感大悟高铁经济区，总占地1050余亩，建有智媒体中心、影视制作中心等七大实验中心及135个专业实训室，馆藏纸质图书126.6万册。秉承“博雅、崇实、弘志、拓新”校训，致力于培养高素质应用型传媒人才，已为社会输送5万余名毕业生，是中南地区传媒教育的重要基地。

Located in Wuhan Optics Valley Canglong Island and Xiaogan Dawu High-speed Railway Economic Zone, the university covers an area of over 1,050 mu. It houses seven experimental centers including Intelligent Media Center and Film & Television Production Center, with 135 professional training labs and 1.266 million paper books in its library. Adhering to the motto of "Erudition, Pragmatism, Aspiration, Innovation", it has cultivated over 50,000 applied media talents, serving as a key media education base in Central South China.
