武汉海事职业学院始于1984年，经湖北省政府批准，由原武汉海事中等职业技术学校升级为独立设置的公办高等职业院校，隶属长江通信管理局和湖北省教育厅。学院是交通运输部海事局认可的优质船员培训机构，拥有“湖北省产业工人培训示范基地”“湖北水上应急训练基地”“船员考试评估基地”等多项资质，办学资源丰富。

Wuhan Maritime Vocational College was founded in 1984. Approved by the Hubei Provincial Government, it was upgraded from the original Wuhan Maritime Secondary Vocational and Technical School to an independent public higher vocational college, affiliated to the Yangtze River Communications Administration Bureau and the Hubei Provincial Department of Education. The college is a high-quality crew training institution recognized by the Maritime Safety Administration of the Ministry of Transport, with multiple qualifications such as "Hubei Provincial Industrial Workers Training Demonstration Base", "Hubei Water Emergency Training Base", and "Crew Examination and Assessment Base", boasting rich educational resources.

学院位于武汉市黄陂区滠口街十里棚特1号，占地近700亩，西邻武汉天河国际机场，北毗木兰山旅游风景区，交通便利，校园环境优美，建筑风格独特，被誉为“欧洲式大学”。学院重点开设航海技术、轮机工程技术、船舶电子电气技术等特色专业，拥有26个航海类专业实验室及全任务船舶操纵模拟器等先进实训设备，满足船员教育与培训需求。

The college is located at No. Te 1, Shilipeng, Shekou Street, Huangpi District, Wuhan, covering an area of nearly 700 mu. It is adjacent to Wuhan Tianhe International Airport in the west and Mulan Mountain Scenic Area in the north, enjoying convenient transportation, a beautiful campus environment and a unique architectural style, known as the "European-style University". The college focuses on offering characteristic majors such as Navigation Technology, Marine Engineering Technology, and Marine Electronic and Electrical Technology. It has 26 marine professional laboratories and advanced training equipment such as full-mission ship handling simulators to meet the needs of crew education and training.
