武汉设计工程学院是经教育部批准设立的全日制普通本科高校，成立于2004年，前身为湖北美术学院艺术设计学院和华中农业大学楚天学院，2015年转设为独立设置民办普通高校并更名。学校位于湖北省武汉市，现有武汉、红安两个校区，主校区坐落于风景优美的汤逊湖畔，校园兼具东西方园林韵味，建筑融现代风格与古典气质于一体。

Wuhan Institute of Design and Sciences is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. Founded in 2004, it formerly went through two development stages: the School of Art and Design of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts and Chutian College of Huazhong Agricultural University. In 2015, it was transformed into an independent private ordinary undergraduate university and renamed. The university is located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, with two campuses in Wuhan and Hong'an. The main campus is situated by the beautiful Tangxun Lake, featuring a campus that combines Eastern and Western garden charms, with buildings integrating modern style and classical temperament.

学校下设成龙影视传媒学院、环境设计学院、时尚设计学院等10院1部，开设33个本科专业和6个专科专业，形成以设计与影视类、食品与健康类为特色和优势的学科专业布局。现有全日制大学生11642人，其中本科生9056人，占比87.3%。服装与服饰设计、食品科学与工程等5个专业为湖北省一流本科专业建设点，《服装立体裁剪》获批国家级一流本科课程。近三年学生获省级及以上学科竞赛奖项1200余项，本科毕业生就业率高于全省平均水平。

The university has 10 schools and 1 department, including Jackie Chan Film and Television Media College, School of Environmental Design, School of Fashion Design, etc. It offers 33 undergraduate majors and 6 junior college majors, forming a disciplinary and professional layout with design and film-television, food and health as its characteristics and advantages. Currently, there are 11,642 full-time college students, including 9,056 undergraduates, accounting for 87.3%. Five majors such as Clothing and Apparel Design, Food Science and Engineering are provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and "Garment Draping" has been approved as a national first-class undergraduate course. In the past three years, students have won more than 1,200 provincial and above discipline competition awards, and the employment rate of undergraduate graduates is higher than the provincial average.

学校坚持开放办学，与成龙先生合作共建成龙影视传媒学院，与香港亚洲医疗集团共建亚心护理学院，与意大利马兰欧尼学院等海外高校合作开设专业方向。近三年教师主持国家自然科学基金、国家艺术基金等科研项目117项，与地方政府、企业合作横向项目68项，科研经费累计434.89万元。学校是全国高校设计赋能乡村振兴志愿服务先进单位、湖北省大学生创业示范基地，办学近20年来向社会输送了近30000名毕业生。

The university adheres to open education, cooperating with Mr. Jackie Chan to establish Jackie Chan Film and Television Media College, with Hong Kong Asia Medical Group to establish Yaxin Nursing College, and with overseas universities such as Istituto Marangoni in Italy to offer professional directions. In the past three years, teachers have presided over 117 scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Art Foundation, and 68 horizontal projects in cooperation with local governments and enterprises, with a total research fund of 4.3489 million yuan. The university is an advanced unit of national university design empowering rural revitalization volunteer service and a Hubei provincial college student entrepreneurship demonstration base. In nearly 20 years of running the school, it has delivered nearly 30,000 graduates to the society.
