武昌工学院是经国家教育部批准设立的全日制普通本科高等学校，创建于2002年，2012年由独立学院转设为普通民办本科高校并更现名。学校位于湖北省武汉市中心城区，西傍长江，南接黄家湖大学城，北邻武昌起义门和武昌火车站，区位优越，交通便捷。

Wuchang Institute of Technology is a full-time private undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education of China. Founded in 2002, it was transformed from an independent college to a regular private undergraduate institution in 2012 and adopted its current name. Located in the central urban area of Wuhan, Hubei Province, the university is adjacent to the Yangtze River to the west, Huangjiahu University Town to the south, and Wuchang Uprising Gate and Wuchang Railway Station to the north, enjoying a superior location and convenient transportation.

学校秉承“厚德、笃学、自强、求新”的校训，以工学为主，形成工学、管理学、经济学、文学、艺术学、教育学六大学科门类协调发展的学科布局。现有全日制在校学生12000余人，教职员工1000余人，其中具有博士、硕士学位教师占94%，副高以上职称教师占35%。

Adhering to the school motto of "Houde (Virtue), Duxue (Studiousness), Ziqiang (Self-improvement), Qiuxin (Innovation)", the university focuses on engineering and has formed a disciplinary layout with coordinated development of six disciplines: engineering, management, economics, literature, art, and education. It currently has over 12,000 full-time students and more than 1,000 faculty members, among whom 94% have doctoral or master's degrees and 35% have associate senior titles or above.
