五邑大学是由广东省人民政府于1985年设立的以工科为主的多科性大学，位于中国著名侨乡江门市。学校由广东省人民政府主管，江门市人民政府共建，拥有硕士学位授予权，是广东省高水平理工科大学建设高校、广东省深化创新创业教育改革示范高校。

Wuyi University is a multidisciplinary university focusing on engineering, established by the People's Government of Guangdong Province in 1985. Located in Jiangmen City, a famous hometown of overseas Chinese in China, it is administered by the People's Government of Guangdong Province and co-constructed by the People's Government of Jiangmen City. The university has the right to grant master's degrees and is a high-level理工科 university construction institution in Guangdong Province and a demonstration university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in Guangdong Province.

学校以“根植侨乡，服务社会，内外合力，特色发展”为办学理念，形成了“侨乡特色”“应用型人才培养”“产学研结合”三大办学特色。现有19个教学院（部），涵盖工、理、经、管、文、法、艺术等7个学科门类，建有省级重点学科7个，国家级一流本科专业建设点10个，省级一流本科专业建设点21个。

Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "taking root in the hometown of overseas Chinese, serving the society, combining internal and external efforts, and developing with characteristics", the university has formed three school-running characteristics: "characteristics of the hometown of overseas Chinese", "cultivation of applied talents" and "integration of industry, education and research". Currently, it has 19 teaching colleges (departments), covering 7 disciplines including engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law and art. It has 7 provincial key disciplines, 10 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 21 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites.
