西安文理学院是2003年经教育部批准，由西安市政府举办、省市共建、面向全国招生的一所全日制普通本科高校，其办学历史可追溯至1903年的陕西师范学堂。学校由西安大学、西安师范专科学校、西安教育学院、西安幼儿师范学校和西安师范学校合并而成，现有高新、关中书院和太白三个校区，校舍建筑面积50万平方米。学校秉承“重德、笃学、躬行、崇高”的校训，践行“最懂西安”的办学理念，坚持建设特色鲜明的高水平应用型城市大学的办学定位，为社会培养了大批优秀人才，被誉为“陕西幼儿教师和西安小学教师的摇篮”。

Xi'an University was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2003. It is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university sponsored by the Xi'an Municipal Government, co-constructed by the province and the city, and enrolling students nationwide. Its educational history can be traced back to Shaanxi Normal School in 1903. The university was formed by the merger of Xi'an University, Xi'an Teachers College, Xi'an Institute of Education, Xi'an Preschool Teachers School and Xi'an Normal School. It now has three campuses: Gaoxin, Guanzhong Academy and Taibai, with a school building area of 500,000 square meters. Adhering to the school motto of "Emphasizing Morality, Diligence in Learning, Practicing, and Aspiring for Lofty Ideals" and practicing the school-running philosophy of "Understanding Xi'an Best", the university insists on the school-running orientation of building a distinctive high-level applied urban university, and has cultivated a large number of outstanding talents for the society, known as "the cradle of preschool teachers in Shaanxi and primary school teachers in Xi'an".

学校现有全日制本科生14000余人，累计联合培养研究生857人，教职工1100余人，其中专任教师中具有副教授以上职称400余人，硕士及以上学位占比90%以上。设有14个二级学院，涵盖文学、理学、工学、教育学、管理学等十大学科门类，拥有6个省级重点学科，3个硕士学位授权点，47个本科专业。近年来，学校荣获陕西省文明校园、陕西省平安校园等称号，多次荣获西安市年度目标责任考核优秀单位，在教育教学、科研创新和社会服务等方面取得了显著成就。

The university currently has more than 14,000 full-time undergraduates, 857 co-cultivated postgraduates, and more than 1,100 faculty members, including over 400 full-time teachers with associate senior titles or above, and more than 90% of them have master's degrees or above. It has 14 secondary colleges, covering ten disciplines such as literature, science, engineering, education, and management, with 6 provincial key disciplines, 3 master's degree authorization points, and 47 undergraduate majors. In recent years, the university has won titles such as Shaanxi Civilized Campus and Shaanxi Safe Campus, and has been awarded the Excellent Unit in Xi'an's annual target responsibility assessment for many times, achieving remarkable achievements in education and teaching, scientific research innovation and social services.
