新疆艺术学院坐落于新疆维吾尔自治区首府乌鲁木齐市，是中国西北地区唯一一所综合性高等艺术学府，始建于1958年，前身为新疆艺术学校，1987年经原国家教育委员会批准恢复成立。学院充分利用新疆丰富的民族文化资源，将传统与现代、民族与国际相结合，形成了独特的艺术教育风格，设有音乐与舞蹈学院、美术学院、设计学院、戏剧学院、传媒学院等多个教学单位，涵盖美术学、音乐与舞蹈学、戏剧与影视学、设计学等多个一级学科，为学生提供广阔的学习空间和多元化的专业选择。

Xinjiang Arts University is located in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is the only comprehensive higher art institution in northwest China. Founded in 1958, its predecessor was Xinjiang Art School, and it was approved to be restored by the former State Education Commission in 1987. Making full use of Xinjiang's rich ethnic cultural resources, the university combines tradition with modernity, ethnicity with internationalization, forming a unique style of art education. It has multiple teaching units such as the School of Music and Dance, School of Fine Arts, School of Design, School of Drama, and School of Media, covering multiple first-level disciplines including Fine Arts, Music and Dance Studies, Drama and Film Studies, and Design, providing students with a broad learning space and diversified professional choices.

学院拥有一支由资深教授、中青年学者和艺术家组成的教师队伍，聘请国内外知名艺术家和教育家担任客座教授或兼职教师，提升学术水平和教学质量。始终坚持以教学为中心、以科研为支撑的办学理念，与国内外多所高校和艺术机构建立广泛合作关系，开展多种形式的学术交流与合作。设有新疆书法教育研究院、文化润疆创作研究中心、非物质文化遗产研究中心等多个科研机构，累计承担各级各类科研项目上百项，出版专著、发表学术论文数百篇（部）。

The university has a teaching team composed of senior professors, middle-aged and young scholars, and artists. It also invites well-known domestic and foreign artists and educators as visiting professors or part-time teachers to enhance academic standards and teaching quality. Adhering to the school-running philosophy centered on teaching and supported by scientific research, it has established extensive cooperative relations with many domestic and foreign universities and art institutions, carrying out various forms of academic exchanges and cooperation. It has set up multiple scientific research institutions such as the Xinjiang Calligraphy Education Research Institute, the Cultural Nourishment of Xinjiang Creation and Research Center, and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Center. It has undertaken hundreds of scientific research projects at all levels, and published hundreds of monographs and academic papers.

学院注重实践教学，拥有新艺舞蹈团、合唱团、交响乐团、国乐团等实践演出团体和一大批校外实践创作基地，建校以来累计为国家培养各类文化艺术人才数万名，毕业生就业率位居自治区普通高校前列。获得全国学校艺术教育先进单位、自治区党建与思想政治工作先进高校、自治区文明校园等多项荣誉称号，正朝着特色鲜明、优势突出、国内知名、面向世界的高水平综合性艺术大学目标努力奋进。

The university emphasizes practical teaching, with practical performance groups such as the Xinyi Dance Troupe, Choir, Symphony Orchestra, and National Orchestra, as well as a large number of off-campus practical creation bases. Since its establishment, it has cultivated tens of thousands of various cultural and artistic talents for the country, with the employment rate of graduates ranking among the top in ordinary universities in the autonomous region. It has won many honorary titles such as the National Advanced Unit of School Art Education, the Advanced University of Party Building and Ideological and Political Work in the Autonomous Region, and the Civilized Campus of the Autonomous Region, striving to become a high-level comprehensive art university with distinctive characteristics, outstanding advantages, domestic reputation, and a global perspective.
