新疆理工学院是由新疆维吾尔自治区人民政府举办、教育厅主管的全日制本科高校。学校前身为始建于2002年的新疆大学科学技术学院，2015年经自治区人民政府批准南迁至阿克苏办学，2019年经教育部批准转设为新疆理工学院。

Xinjiang Institute of Technology is a full-time undergraduate university sponsored by the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and administered by the Department of Education. Its predecessor was the College of Science and Technology of Xinjiang University, founded in 2002. In 2015, it was approved by the Autonomous Region People's Government to relocate south to Aksu for running the school, and in 2019, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be transformed into Xinjiang Institute of Technology.

学校占地面积2800余亩，已建成校舍面积41.7万多平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值1.29亿元。设有9个二级院（部），涵盖工学、理学、经济学、管理学、文学、法学6个学科门类，37个本科专业。其中通信工程为国家级一流本科专业建设点，5个专业为自治区级一流本科专业建设点。现有在校生15000余人，教职工1000余名。

The university covers an area of more than 2,800 mu, with a completed school building area of over 417,000 square meters and a total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment of 129 million yuan. It has 9 secondary colleges (departments), covering 6 disciplines including engineering, science, economics, management, literature and law, with 37 undergraduate majors. Among them, Communication Engineering is a national first-class undergraduate major construction site, and 5 majors are autonomous region-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites. There are more than 15,000 students and over 1,000 faculty members.

学校拥有自治区级科研平台多个，承担国家级、省部级等各级项目多项。在教学改革、学科竞赛等方面成效显著，教师获国家级、省部级奖项多项，学生在各类竞赛中累计获得国家级奖项398项、省部级奖项774项。学校坚持用胡杨精神育人，为兴疆固边服务，致力于建设区域一流、理工特色鲜明的高水平应用型大学。
