新疆警察学院由自治区人民政府举办、公安厅管理、教育厅业务指导，是西北地区唯一的公安本科院校。其前身是1950年成立的新疆省人民公安学校，2002年组建新疆警官高等专科学校，2012年3月经教育部批准成立新疆警察学院。学院是新疆公安警察培训基地、公安部警务实战训练新疆警察学院基地，坚持服务新疆公安工作、服务新疆社会稳定和长治久安、服务总体国家安全战略，培养适应国家反恐维稳斗争需要的应用型公安专门人才。

Xinjiang Police College is sponsored by the People's Government of the Autonomous Region, managed by the Public Security Department, and under the professional guidance of the Education Department. It is the only public security undergraduate college in northwest China. Its predecessor was the Xinjiang Provincial People's Public Security School founded in 1950. In 2002, it was restructured into Xinjiang Police Officer Junior College, and in March 2012, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to establish Xinjiang Police College. The college serves as the Xinjiang Public Security Police Training Base and the Xinjiang Police College Base for Practical Police Training of the Ministry of Public Security. It is committed to serving Xinjiang's public security work, social stability and long-term peace, and the overall national security strategy, cultivating applied public security professionals to meet the needs of national counter-terrorism and stability maintenance efforts.

学院有长沙路和米东两个校区，占地面积80.63万平方米，总建筑面积13.68万平方米，在建总建筑面积15.6万平方米。教学科研仪器设备总值2822.58万元，图书馆藏书50余万册，建有网络舆情导控及网络攻防等实验室12个、反恐VR虚拟仿真等实训室36个，并与地州公安机关建立协同育人实习实训基地30个。现有副教授以上职称83人，博士20人，硕士164人，省部级以上教学名师、优秀教师、教学能手12人。七十年来，学院为全疆公安政法机关培养了7万余名应用型公安政法专门人才，涌现出人民英雄艾热提·马木提等一批英雄模范，被誉为新疆公安政法干警的摇篮。

The college has two campuses, Changsha Road and Midong, covering an area of 806,300 square meters with a total construction area of 136,800 square meters, and an under-construction area of 156,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 28.2258 million yuan, and the library has a collection of over 500,000 books. It has 12 laboratories for network public opinion control and network attack and defense, 36 training rooms for counter-terrorism VR virtual simulation, and 30 collaborative education practice bases established with local public security organs. There are 83 associate professors or above, 20 doctors, 164 masters, and 12 provincial and ministerial-level teaching masters, outstanding teachers, and teaching experts. Over the past 70 years, the college has trained more than 70,000 applied public security and political-legal professionals for public security and political-legal organs across Xinjiang, producing heroic models such as People's Hero Aireti Mamuti, and is known as the cradle of Xinjiang's public security and political-legal police officers.
