新疆大学是一所具有悠久历史和光荣传统的高等学府，坐落于美丽的新疆维吾尔自治区首府乌鲁木齐市。学校前身是创办于1924年的新疆俄文法政专门学校，历经多次调整与发展，1960年正式定名为新疆大学，是国家“双一流”建设高校、国家“211工程”重点建设高校，也是教育部与新疆维吾尔自治区人民政府“部区合建”高校。学校始终坚持社会主义办学方向，落实立德树人根本任务，致力于培养德智体美劳全面发展的社会主义建设者和可靠接班人。

Xinjiang University is a prestigious institution of higher learning with a long history and glorious traditions, located in Urumqi, the beautiful capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Its predecessor was the Xinjiang Russian-French Political and Legal College founded in 1924. After several adjustments and developments, it was officially named Xinjiang University in 1960. It is a national "Double First-Class" construction university, a key university under the national "211 Project", and a university jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The university always adheres to the socialist orientation in running schools, implements the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and is committed to cultivating socialist builders and reliable successors with all-round development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor.

学校学科门类齐全，涵盖哲学、经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、农学、医学、管理学、艺术学等12个学科门类，形成了以文、理、工为主，多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。现有2个国家级重点学科，1个国家重点（培育）学科，14个自治区级重点学科；有2个国家“双一流”建设学科，在第四轮学科评估中，有多个学科获得B类及以上评价。学校拥有一支结构合理、素质优良的师资队伍，其中不乏国家级教学名师、长江学者、国家杰出青年科学基金获得者等高层次人才。

The university has a complete range of disciplines, covering 12 disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and art, forming a discipline and professional system dominated by liberal arts, science, and engineering, with coordinated development of multiple disciplines. It currently has 2 national key disciplines, 1 national key (cultivation) discipline, and 14 autonomous region-level key disciplines; there are 2 national "Double First-Class" construction disciplines. In the fourth round of discipline evaluation, multiple disciplines received B-class or above evaluations. The university has a well-structured and high-quality teaching staff, including high-level talents such as national teaching masters, Yangtze River Scholars, and winners of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund.

在科学研究方面，新疆大学积极服务国家和区域经济社会发展需求，建有多个国家级和省部级科研平台，在资源环境、生态保护、能源化工、信息技术、边疆治理等领域取得了一系列重要科研成果。学校注重国际交流与合作，与多个国家和地区的高校建立了友好合作关系，积极开展人才联合培养、学术交流等活动，努力提升办学国际化水平。
