厦门医学院是福建省三所医学类本科高校之一，也是厦门市乃至闽西南唯一的医学类本科高校。办学渊源可追溯到1898年在鼓浪屿创设的医学专门学校，传承“德厚立人、术湛立业”的校训，弘扬“阳光、大气、善良、感恩”的校风和“忠诚、团结、实干、创新”的学风，形成“对国家尽忠、对父母尽孝、对单位尽责、对患者尽心”的“四尽”医药卫生人才培养理念，致力于为医疗卫生行业和医药、健康产业输送高素质应用型人才。

Xiamen Medical College is one of the three medical undergraduate universities in Fujian Province and the only medical undergraduate university in Xiamen and even southwestern Fujian. Its educational origin can be traced back to the Medical School founded in Gulangyu in 1898. It inherits the school motto of "Virtue Builds Character, Excellence Achieves Career", promotes the school spirit of "Sunshine, Generosity, Kindness, Gratitude" and the study style of "Loyalty, Unity, Diligence, Innovation", and has formed the "Four Devotions" talent training philosophy for medical and health professionals: "Devotion to the country, devotion to parents, devotion to the unit, devotion to patients", committed to cultivating high-quality applied talents for the medical and health industry as well as the pharmaceutical and health sectors.

学校位于厦门市集美区，校园总占地面积885亩，总建筑面积28.3万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值超4.3亿元，图书馆藏书80.1万册。设有18个本科专业，形成医、护、药、技齐全的学科专业体系，现有在校生8500人左右，教职医护员工3086人（含2所直属附属医院）。拥有2所直属附属医院、4所非直属附属医院及167个校外实训基地，2021年起与福建医科大学等联合培养硕士研究生，教育教学成果丰硕，毕业生执业医师资格考试通过率、考研录取率和就业率均居同类院校前列。

Located in Jimei District, Xiamen, the university covers a total area of 885 mu with a total construction area of 283,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment exceeds 430 million yuan, and the library has a collection of 801,000 books. It offers 18 undergraduate majors, forming a complete disciplinary system covering medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and medical technology. Currently, there are about 8,500 students and 3,086 faculty and medical staff (including 2 affiliated hospitals directly under the university). It has 2 directly affiliated hospitals, 4 non-directly affiliated hospitals, and 167 off-campus training bases. Since 2021, it has jointly trained postgraduate students with Fujian Medical University and other institutions. The university has achieved fruitful results in education and teaching, with the passing rate of the National Medical Licensing Examination, postgraduate entrance examination admission rate, and employment rate of graduates all ranking among the top of similar institutions.
