湘潭大学兴湘学院是经教育部和湖南省人民政府批准设立，由湘潭大学创办的独立学院，2001年正式成立，坐落于毛主席故乡——湖南省湘潭市。学院依托湘潭大学的综合办学优势，共享其一流的师资队伍、图书资料、教学设施和学科资源，是一所涵盖文学、理学、工学、法学、经济学、管理学等六大学科门类的民办综合类普通本科院校。

Xiangtan University Xingxiang College is an independent college approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Hunan Province, founded by Xiangtan University. Established in 2001, it is located in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, the hometown of Chairman Mao. Relying on the comprehensive educational advantages of Xiangtan University, the college shares its first-class faculty, library resources, teaching facilities and disciplinary resources. It is a private comprehensive ordinary undergraduate college covering six disciplines: literature, science, engineering, law, economics and management.

学院设有49个本科专业，在校学生近5500人，现有专任教师289人，其中62%具有高级职称，70%具有博士学位。学院以就业为导向，重点发展应用型专业，长期聘请外籍教师担任英语教学，并定期举办学术讲座，邀请国内外知名专家学者讲学。校园与湘潭大学主校区紧密相连，共享优质教育资源与文化氛围，地处长株潭两型社会综合配套实验区中心地带，交通便利，环境优美。

The college offers 49 undergraduate majors with nearly 5,500 students and 289 full-time teachers, among whom 62% have senior professional titles and 70% have doctoral degrees. Oriented by employment, the college focuses on developing applied majors, and has long hired foreign teachers to teach English. It regularly holds academic lectures and invites well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad to give lectures. The campus is closely connected with the main campus of Xiangtan University, sharing high-quality educational resources and cultural atmosphere. Located in the central area of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Two-Oriented Social Comprehensive Reform Pilot Zone, it enjoys convenient transportation and a beautiful environment.

学院秉承湘潭大学“博学笃行、盛德日新”的校训，倡导“以学生为主体，以教师为主导”的教育理念，注重培养学生的实践能力、创新精神和综合素质。近年来，学生在各类竞赛中荣获国家级、省部级奖励100余项，研究生考取率保持在15%左右，年终就业率连续多年超过92%，教育教学质量享有良好声誉。
