湘潭医卫职业技术学院是由湘潭市人民政府主办、面向全国招生的全日制普通公办医卫类高职院校，办学历史溯源于1915年美国基督教长老会创办的广德高级护士职业学校。前国务院总理温家宝、副总理李岚清等党和国家领导人曾亲临学校视察。

Xiangtan Medicine & Health Vocational College is a full-time public medical and health vocational college sponsored by the Xiangtan Municipal People's Government, enrolling students nationwide. Its educational history can be traced back to the Guangde Senior Nurse Vocational School founded by the American Presbyterian Church in 1915. Former Premier Wen Jiabao and Vice Premier Li Lanqing, among other Party and state leaders, have visited the college.

学校现有两个校区，设有临床学院、护理学院、医学技术学院、医疗设备与管理学院、马克思主义学院、继续教育学院、医学基础与公共课部，开设临床医学、口腔医学、护理等22个专业（方向），在校学生约15000人。学校拥有3所附属医院及170余家医卫类定点实习就业基地，师资力量雄厚，“双师型”教师占比突出，注重实践教学与校企合作，为医疗卫生行业培养高素质技术技能人才。

The college has two campuses, housing the Clinical College, School of Nursing, School of Medical Technology, School of Medical Equipment and Management, School of Marxism, School of Continuing Education, and Department of Medical Foundation and Public Courses. It offers 22 majors (directions) including Clinical Medicine, Stomatology, and Nursing, with approximately 15,000 students. The college has 3 affiliated hospitals and over 170 designated medical and health internship and employment bases. It boasts a strong faculty with a prominent proportion of "double-qualified" teachers, focusing on practical teaching and school-enterprise cooperation to cultivate high-quality technical talents for the medical and health industry.
