潇湘职业学院是经湖南省人民政府批准、教育部备案、列入国家统招计划的全日制普通高等院校，系省属优秀院校和精神文明单位。学校起源于1992年，2018年由中国企业500强之一的大汉控股集团独资举办，是一所特色培养高素质高技能应用型专门人才的高等职业院校。

Xiaoxiang Vocational College is a full-time ordinary higher education institution approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government, registered with the Ministry of Education, and included in the national unified enrollment plan. It is an excellent provincial-level college and a spiritual civilization unit. Founded in 1992, the college was solely owned by Dahan Holding Group, one of China's Top 500 enterprises, in 2018. It is a higher vocational college specializing in cultivating high-quality, skilled and applied professionals.

学校占地面积530亩，总建筑面积18万余平方米，建有13950平方米的图书馆、400米标准塑胶跑道田径场、可容纳一万人的体艺馆、现代化标准的4D食堂、全新学生公寓、中央财政重点支持的汽车实训中心、电子信息技术和机电实训大楼，拥有47个专业实训室、45个校外实训基地。2019年6月，学校市级院士专家工作站顺利通过娄底市认定，成为湖南省唯一一所拥有院士专家工作站的民办高职专科院校。

The college covers an area of 530 mu with a total construction area of over 180,000 square meters. It has a 13,950-square-meter library, a 400-meter standard塑胶 track and field stadium, an art and sports hall that can accommodate 10,000 people, a modern standard 4D canteen, new student apartments, an automobile training center supported by the central finance, electronic information technology and mechanical and electrical training buildings. It also has 47 professional training rooms and 45 off-campus training bases. In June 2019, the college's municipal academician expert workstation was successfully recognized by Loudi City, becoming the only private higher vocational college with an academician expert workstation in Hunan Province.

学校现有来自全国各地的学子7200余人，教职员工386人，其中教授、副教授、研究生、双师型教师157人。设有信息工程学院、汽车机电工程学院、商学院、学前教育与军体学院、应用教育学院五个二级分院，开设有新能源汽车技术、城市轨道交通运营管理、虚拟现实应用技术、计算机网络技术、工业机器人技术等28个专业，其中汽车工程技术专业群已立项为省级一流特色专业群培育项目。

The college currently has more than 7,200 students from all over the country and 386 faculty members, including 157 professors, associate professors, postgraduates and double-qualified teachers. It has five secondary colleges: School of Information Engineering, School of Automobile and Mechanical Engineering, School of Business, School of Preschool Education and Military Sports, and School of Applied Education. It offers 28 majors such as New Energy Vehicle Technology, Urban Rail Transit Operation and Management, Virtual Reality Application Technology, Computer Network Technology, and Industrial Robot Technology. Among them, the Automobile Engineering Technology professional group has been approved as a provincial first-class characteristic professional group cultivation project.
