信阳师范大学（Xinyang Normal University），简称信阳师大（XYNU），是我国改革开放后河南省创办的第一所本科高校，是河南省重点建设的两所师范大学之一，被誉为“教师之摇篮”，被赞为“河南省最美的高校”“办在花园中的大学”。学校创建于1975年，时名开封师范学院（今河南大学）信阳分院，1978年经国务院批准为本科建制并改为信阳师范学院，2023年6月更名为信阳师范大学。

Xinyang Normal University (XYNU), founded in 1975, is the first undergraduate institution established in Henan Province after China's reform and opening up. It is one of the two key normal universities in Henan and is renowned as the "Cradle of Teachers" and praised as "the Most Beautiful University in Henan" and "a university in a garden". Originally named Xinyang Branch of Kaifeng Normal College (now Henan University), it was approved as an undergraduate institution by the State Council in 1978 and renamed Xinyang Normal University in June 2023.

学校现有谭山、淮河、信阳理工学院三个校区，占地面积3275亩，全日制在校生2.7万余人，其中研究生2600余人。设有24个学院，涵盖11大学科门类，80个本科专业，15个硕士学位授权一级学科，17种硕士专业学位授权类别，与闽南师范大学、中国林业科学研究院等联合培养博士生。图书馆各类纸质图书303万册，电子图书260万种，教职工2000余人，其中高级专业技术职务教师600余人，博士学位教师900余人。

The university has three campuses: Tanshan, Huaihe, and Xinyang Institute of Technology, covering an area of 3275 mu. It has over 27,000 full-time students, including more than 2,600 postgraduates. With 24 colleges, it offers 80 undergraduate programs across 11 disciplines, 15 first-level master's degree programs, and 17 types of professional master's degrees. It also jointly cultivates doctoral students with Minnan Normal University and the Chinese Academy of Forestry. The library holds 3.03 million paper books and 2.6 million e-books. The faculty exceeds 2,000, including over 600 senior professionals and 900 doctoral degree holders.

学校学科优势突出，大别山农业生物资源保护与利用学科群入选省首批优势特色学科建设工程，拥有河南省特色骨干学科（群）2个、ESI前1%学科3个，在第四、五轮学科评估中马克思主义理论和数学学科进入榜单。教育教学成果丰硕，拥有国家级一流课程等国家级课程15门，13个师范类专业通过教育部师范类第二级认证，获批国家语言文字推广基地。科研实力强劲，建有大别山实验室等50个省级科研平台，近五年获批国家级科研项目135项，与30多个国家的高校及教育机构建立合作关系。

Xinyang Normal University boasts strong disciplinary strengths: its "Protection and Utilization of Agricultural Biological Resources in the Dabie Mountains" discipline group is included in Henan's first batch of advantageous characteristic disciplines. It has 2 provincial key discipline groups, 3 ESI top 1% disciplines, with Marxist Theory and Mathematics listed in the 4th and 5th round of discipline evaluations. The university has achieved fruitful educational outcomes, including 15 national-level courses such as national first-class courses, 13 teacher education programs accredited by the Ministry of Education, and a national language promotion base. It also has strong research capabilities with 50 provincial-level research platforms like the Dabie Mountains Laboratory, securing 135 national-level research projects in recent five years and collaborating with institutions in over 30 countries.
