新余学院坐落于江西省新型工业城市——新余市，是与新余市共生共荣共成长的公办普通本科院校。学校前身是1985年创办的新余职业大学，1992年更名为新余高等专科学校，2010年经教育部批准升格为本科院校。校园占地133公顷，建筑面积45万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值2.7亿元，图书馆藏书168万册，电子图书138万册。现有在职教职工813人，其中高级职称教师254人，双师型教师293人，具有硕士或博士学位教师552人，在校生15000余人，办学38年来累计培养7万余名毕业生。

Xinyu University is located in Xinyu, a new industrial city in Jiangxi Province. It is a public ordinary undergraduate university that has grown and prospered together with Xinyu City. The predecessor of the university was Xinyu Vocational University founded in 1985. It was renamed Xinyu Junior College in 1992 and upgraded to an undergraduate institution with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2010. The campus covers an area of 133 hectares with a building area of 450,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 270 million yuan. The library has a collection of 1.68 million paper books and 1.38 million e-books. There are 813 in-service faculty members, including 254 with senior professional titles, 293 dual-qualified teachers, and 552 teachers with master's or doctoral degrees. The university has more than 15,000 students and has trained more than 70,000 graduates in the past 38 years of running.

学校以工学为主，形成了以工学为主体、文理为基础、新能源为特色的学科专业体系，设有13个教学院，40个本科专业涵盖工学、文学、理学、医学、教育学、管理学、艺术学、经济学八大学科门类。作为江西省首批转型发展试点高校，学校大力推进产教融合、校企合作，是教育部新工科、新文科项目建设实施单位和产教融合创新基地首批试点高校，拥有国家级一流本科课程1门、省级一流专业4个和省级一流课程24门，新能源科学与工程专业在全省专业综合评价中排名第一并获批四星专业。

With engineering as its main focus, the university has formed a disciplinary and professional system with engineering as the main body, liberal arts and sciences as the foundation, and new energy as its特色. It has 13 teaching colleges and 40 undergraduate majors covering eight disciplines: engineering, literature, science, medicine, education, management, art, and economics. As one of the first pilot universities for transformation and development in Jiangxi Province, the university vigorously promotes the integration of industry and education as well as university-enterprise cooperation. It is an implementation unit for the Ministry of Education's new engineering and new liberal arts projects and one of the first pilot universities for the industry-education integration innovation base. It has 1 national first-class undergraduate course, 4 provincial first-class majors, and 24 provincial first-class courses. The major of New Energy Science and Engineering ranked first in the comprehensive evaluation of majors in the province and was approved as a four-star major.

近年来，学校教学科研水平稳步提升，获批教育部本科教学工作合格评估，主持国家自然科学基金、社会科学基金等项目500余项，教师发表核心期刊论文500余篇，三大索引收录论文400余篇，获得专利授权700余项。学生参加省级以上竞赛获奖2769项，其中国家级400项，大学生创新创业训练计划项目立项728项，毕业就业率多年超过全省平均水平，连续四次被评为全省高校就业工作评估优秀单位，正朝着建设特色鲜明的高水平应用型本科院校目标迈进。

In recent years, the university's teaching and research level has steadily improved. Teachers have published more than 500 core journal papers, more than 400 papers included in the three major indexes, and obtained more than 700 patent authorizations. Students have won 2,769 awards in competitions above the provincial level, including 400 national awards. 728 college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training programs have been approved. The employment rate of graduates has exceeded the provincial average for many years, and it has been rated as an excellent unit in the employment work evaluation of colleges and universities in the province for four consecutive times.
