湘中幼儿师范高等专科学校于2017年4月经湖南省人民政府批准设立，由原邵阳师范学校、武冈师范学校、邵阳教育学院、邵阳艺术学校四校合并升格而成，其办学历史可追溯至1898年藤氏女塾，师范教育渊源始于1903年，1991年获评全国优秀师范学校。作为省市共管的全日制公办普通高等专科学校，学校先后获评湖南省文明校园、湖南省铸牢中华民族共同体意识教育示范学校，是全国职业院校传统技艺传承示范基地、工信部青少年人工智能教育师资培养基地及祁剧、邵阳花鼓戏等国家级非遗项目人才培养基地。

Xiangzhong Preschool Education College was established in April 2017 with the approval of the Hunan Provincial People's Government. It was formed by the merger and upgrading of the former Shaoyang Normal School, Wugang Normal School, Shaoyang College of Education, and Shaoyang Art School. Its educational history can be traced back to the Teng's Girls' School in 1898, with the origin of normal education starting in 1903. In 1991, it was awarded the title of National Excellent Normal School. As a full-time public ordinary higher vocational college jointly managed by the province and city, the school has successively been rated as a Hunan Provincial Civilized Campus and a Hunan Provincial Model School for Education on Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation. It is also a National Vocational College Traditional Skills Inheritance Demonstration Base, a Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Youth Artificial Intelligence Education Teacher Training Base, and a talent training base for national intangible cultural heritage projects such as Qiyang Opera and Shaoyang Flower Drum Opera.

学校坐落于邵阳市大祥区学院路，占地857亩，建筑面积23万平方米，教学仪器设备总值达1.6亿元。面向全国10个省（直辖市、自治区）招生，全日制在校生9000余人，现有教职工493人，其中全国优秀教师1人，教授21人，副高职称132人，博士（含在读）9人，硕士以上教师175人，双师型教师141人，建有湖南省楚怡教学名师团队2个。设有7个二级学院及邵阳市中小学教师发展中心，开设学前教育、小学教育、艺术教育等22个专业，涵盖教育、艺术、健康、商贸等多个领域，小学教育、小学英语教育专业纳入教育部师范生免试认定教师资格改革范围。

The school is located on Xueyuan Road, Daxiang District, Shaoyang City, covering an area of 857 mu with a building area of 230,000 square meters. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment reaches 160 million yuan. It enrolls students from 10 provinces (municipalities directly under the Central Government and autonomous regions) across the country, with more than 9,000 full-time students and 493 faculty members. Among them, there is 1 National Excellent Teacher, 21 professors, 132 associate senior titles, 9 doctors (including those studying), 175 teachers with master's degree or above, and 141 double-qualified teachers. It has established 2 Hunan Chuyi Teaching Famous Teacher Teams. The school has 7 secondary colleges and the Shaoyang Primary and Secondary School Teacher Development Center, offering 22 majors such as preschool education, primary school education, and art education, covering multiple fields including education, art, health, and commerce. The primary school education and primary school English education majors are included in the reform scope of the Ministry of Education's exemption from teacher qualification certification for normal school students.

In recent years, it has obtained 425 projects at all levels such as the Humanities and Social Sciences Project of the Ministry of Education, built 1 national-level online quality course and 9 provincial-level quality courses, and won 39 provincial-level teaching achievement awards.
