银川能源学院是经教育部批准设立的民办普通本科高校，由宁夏宝塔石化集团有限公司于1999年投资举办，初名银川大学。2004年，经宁夏回族自治区人民政府批准，更名为银川科技职业学院。2012年，教育部批准升格为普通本科院校，定名为银川能源学院。2016年，学校获得学士学位授予权；2019年，举办者变更为四川希望教育产业集团有限公司。学校秉承“明德善思、求实敏行”的校训，实施“质量立校、特色兴校、人才强校”发展战略，致力于建设区域优势突出、行业特色鲜明的地方性应用型本科高校。

Yinchuan University of Energy is a private ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. It was founded in 1999 by Ningxia Baota Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd., initially named Yinchuan University. In 2004, with the approval of the People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, it was renamed Yinchuan Vocational College of Science and Technology. In 2012, the Ministry of Education approved its升格 to an ordinary undergraduate institution, officially named Yinchuan University of Energy. In 2016, the university obtained the right to grant bachelor's degrees; in 2019, the sponsor was changed to Sichuan Hope Education Industry Group Co., Ltd. Adhering to the school motto of "Virtue, Reflection, Truth-seeking and Action", the university implements the development strategy of "Establishing the University by Quality, Prosperishing the University by Characteristics, and Strengthening the University by Talents", and is committed to building a local application-oriented undergraduate university with prominent regional advantages and distinct industry characteristics.

学校现有王太、滨河两个校区及闽宁培训中心、鹤泉湖实训中心，校园占地面积91.68万平方米，校舍总建筑面积42.25万平方米。全日制在校学生近1.5万人，教职工940余人。设有13个二级学院（部），开设本科专业29个，涵盖工学、管理学等8个学科门类，拥有自治区级优势特色学科1个、重点学科1个、一流本科专业建设点12个。形成了能源化工专业特色、实践育人特色、“三合三融”创新创业特色等三大办学特色，在各级各类创新创业大赛中获得国家级、自治区级奖项50多个。

The university currently has two campuses (Wangtai and Binhe), as well as Minning Training Center and Hequanhu Training Center, covering an area of 916,800 square meters with a total building area of 422,500 square meters. There are nearly 15,000 full-time students and more than 940 faculty members. It has 13 secondary colleges (departments), offering 29 undergraduate majors covering 8 disciplines including engineering and management. It has 1 autonomous region-level advantageous characteristic discipline, 1 key discipline, and 12 first-class undergraduate major construction sites. It has formed three major school-running characteristics: energy chemical engineering specialty, practical education, and "Three Integrations and Three Mergers" innovation and entrepreneurship. It has won more than 50 national and autonomous region-level awards in various innovation and entrepreneurship competitions.
