运城师范高等专科学校是经山西省人民政府和国家教育部正式批准备案的公办全日制高等师范院校。学校位于运城市舜帝陵景区的大学城，与运城学院和运城护理职业学院毗邻，占地450余亩，是一所高标准、现代化的师范专科学校。作为其前身的运城师范学校和稷山师范学校，都曾是享誉河东、名扬三晋的老牌名校。一个世纪以来，为国家培养了首任驻美大使柴泽民，原国务院副秘书长郑思远，全国政协常委、中国作协副主席、山西省副省长张平，原成都军区政委上将张志坚等一批著名党政军干部和数以万计的优秀中小学教师。

Yuncheng Normal College is a public full-time higher normal college officially approved and filed by the People's Government of Shanxi Province and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. Located in the university town of the Shun Di Ling Scenic Area in Yuncheng City, adjacent to Yuncheng University and Yuncheng Vocational College of Nursing, the college covers an area of more than 450 mu and is a high-standard, modern normal college. Its predecessors, Yuncheng Normal School and Jishan Normal School, were both well-known old prestigious schools in Hedong and Sanjin. Over the past century, it has cultivated a number of famous party, government and military cadres such as Chai Zemin, the first ambassador to the United States, Zheng Siyuan, former Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council, Zhang Ping, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Vice Chairman of the China Writers Association and Vice Governor of Shanxi Province, and Zhang Zhijian, former Political Commissar of the Chengdu Military Region, as well as tens of thousands of outstanding primary and secondary school teachers for the country.

改革开放后，学校以质量求生存、以管理谋发展、以科研为先导、以就业为导向、以培养具有创新精神和实践能力的专科层次小学教师为根本，夯实高师基础，凸显师范特色，深化以教学为中心的各项改革，不断提升学校办学水平和综合实力，为山西向东向西经济发展及晋、陕、豫黄河金三角社会经济和地方教育事业发展与全面进步提供了强有力的人才支撑和智力支持，赢得了社会的广泛认可，先后荣获“全国素质教育百面旗”“全国艺术教育先进单位”“全国体育工作先进单位”“全国五四红旗团委”“山西省优秀师范学校”“山西省文明学校”“山西省中小学教师培养工作先进单位”等多项殊荣。

Since the reform and opening up, the college has been committed to survival through quality, development through management, research as the guide, employment as the orientation, and cultivating college-level primary school teachers with innovative spirit and practical ability as the foundation. It has consolidated the foundation of higher normal education, highlighted normal school characteristics, deepened various reforms centered on teaching, and continuously improved the school-running level and comprehensive strength.
