云南特殊教育职业学院坐落于云南昆明市，是我国西南地区唯一一所独立设置的公办专科层次特殊教育职业院校。学院创建于2017年，占地面积151亩，主管部门为云南省教育厅，现有呈贡、西山、石林等多个校区。学校以三年全日制中专、高职专科层次和五年全日制专科层次的学历教育为主，兼顾继续教育，并组织开展订单培养和职业资格培训及鉴定，专注于培养高素质技能型残疾人和公共服务事业专门人才。

Yunnan Vocational College of Special Education is located in Kunming, Yunnan Province. It is the only independently established public vocational college of special education at the junior college level in southwest China. Founded in 2017, the college covers an area of 151 mu and is under the supervision of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, with multiple campuses including Chenggong, Xishan, and Shilin. The college mainly offers three-year full-time secondary vocational education, three-year junior college education, and five-year full-time junior college education, while also engaging in continuing education, order-based training, vocational qualification training, and certification. It focuses on cultivating high-quality skilled disabled talents and professionals for public service.

学院前身是始建于1990年的云南省华夏中等专业学校，为我国残联系统成立最早的国有公办特殊中等职业学校之一。中国残联名誉主席邓朴方曾推动学校创建，并在建校十周年时题词“办特色学校，育华夏英才”。2003年起，学校先后与云南师范大学、北京联合大学合作开办聋人高职班，填补了云南省高等特殊教育空白；2014年挂牌成立云南开放大学特殊教育学院，2017年正式组建为云南特殊教育职业学院，2018年主管部门调整为云南省教育厅。

The college's predecessor is Yunnan Huaxia Secondary Vocational School, founded in 1990, which is one of the earliest state-run special secondary vocational schools established in China's disabled persons' federation system. Deng Pufang, honorary chairman of the China Disabled Persons' Federation, promoted the establishment of the school and inscribed "Run a characteristic school, cultivate talents for China" on its 10th anniversary. Since 2003, the school has collaborated with Yunnan Normal University and Beijing Union University to offer higher vocational classes for the deaf, filling the gap in higher special education in Yunnan Province. In 2014, it was established as the School of Special Education of Yunnan Open University, formally reorganized into Yunnan Vocational College of Special Education in 2017, and its supervising authority was adjusted to the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education in 2018.

学校秉承“残璋为玉、诵弦成华”的校训和“残健结合、共同发展、融合教育、服务社会”的办学理念，设有马克思主义学院、特殊教育与公共服务系等五个院系部，开设特殊教育、康复治疗技术、大数据与会计、艺术设计等10个大专专业及5个中专专业。现有教职工172人，其中高级职称38人，硕士以上学历37人，拥有2名省级教学名师。校内实训室15个，校外实习基地41个，图书馆藏书13万册，近年来培养出冬残奥运冠军杨洪琼等优秀学子，为残疾人事业和区域经济社会发展作出积极贡献。

Adhering to the school motto "Defects as Jade, Education as Achievement" and the educational philosophy of "Integration of Disabled and Able-Bodied, Common Development, Inclusive Education, and Serving Society", the college has five departments including the School of Marxism and the Department of Special Education and Public Services. It offers 10 junior college majors such as Special Education, Rehabilitation Therapy Technology, Big Data and Accounting, and Art Design, as well as 5 secondary vocational majors. The college has 172 faculty members, including 38 with senior professional titles and 37 with master's degrees or above, and 2 provincial-level teaching masters. It has 15 on-campus training rooms, 41 off-campus internship bases, and a library with 130,000 books. In recent years, it has cultivated outstanding students such as Yang Hongqiong, a Paralympic Winter Games champion, making positive contributions to the cause of disabled persons and regional economic and social development.
