云南锡业职业技术学院于2007年3月1日经云南省人民政府批准成立，国家教育部备案，是一所以工科为主、文理科兼容、培养有色金属、建筑、财会、物流等行业所需专业和高技能人才的综合性全日制高等职业技术学院。学院纳入国家教育部计划内统招，学生毕业后颁发大专文凭。学院与昆明理工大学长期合作，是昆明理工大学的助学单位，现为云南省特色骨干院校。2017年8月，学院入选为国家第二批现代学徒制试点单位。

Yunnan Tin Industry Vocational and Technical College was approved by the People's Government of Yunnan Province on March 1, 2007 and registered with the Ministry of Education. It is a comprehensive full-time higher vocational and technical college focusing on engineering, compatible with liberal arts and sciences, and cultivating professionals and high-skilled talents needed in industries such as non-ferrous metals, construction, accounting, and logistics. The college is included in the national unified enrollment plan of the Ministry of Education, and students are awarded college diplomas upon graduation. It has long-term cooperation with Kunming University of Science and Technology as an assistant education unit, and is now a characteristic backbone college in Yunnan Province. In August 2017, the college was selected as the second batch of national modern apprenticeship pilot units.

学院由云南锡业集团（控股）有限责任公司举办，位于云南省红河哈尼族彝族自治州个旧市个金路20号，占地634.21亩，教学、行政用房6.75万平方米，学生宿舍3.73万平方米，运动场地2.7万平方米，实验实训场地5.1万平方米，图书馆藏书18.64万册。学院以资源开发与测绘类专业为龙头，以材料与能源、制造和土建类专业为重点，设有33个专业，其中省级高水平骨干专业3个，在校学生5323人，教职工168人，同时聘请了200余人的兼职教师队伍，形成了一支结构合理、素质优良的师资队伍。

Sponsored by Yunnan Tin Industry Group (Holdings) Co., Ltd., the college is located at No. 20 Gejin Road, Gejiu City, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, covering an area of 634.21 mu. It has 67,500 square meters of teaching and administrative buildings, 37,300 square meters of student dormitories, 27,000 square meters of sports grounds, 51,000 square meters of experimental and training venues, and a library with 186,400 books. With resource development and surveying mapping majors as the leader, and materials energy, manufacturing and civil engineering majors as the focus, the college offers 33 majors, including 3 provincial high-level key majors. There are 5,323 students and 168 faculty members, and more than 200 part-time teachers are employed, forming a well-structured and high-quality teaching team.
