玉溪职业技术学院于2022年3月经云南省人民政府批准成立，是一所国家教育部备案的全日制公办普通高等职业学校。学院位于玉溪市红塔区科创大道9号，占地面积314亩，投资13.89亿元，现有校舍建筑面积26.67万余平方米，配备校内实训室42个，教学计算机250台，入校宽带1000兆，图书资料40.2万册。

Yuxi Vocational and Technical College was approved by the People's Government of Yunnan Province in March 2022 and is a full-time public higher vocational school registered with the Ministry of Education of China. The college is located at No. 9 Kechuang Avenue, Hongta District, Yuxi City, covering an area of 314 mu with an investment of 1.389 billion yuan. It currently has a school building area of over 266,700 square meters, equipped with 42 on-campus training rooms, 250 teaching computers, 1000 Mbps broadband access, and 402,000 books and materials.

学院首批开办了5个三年制专科专业，分别是智能光电技术应用、旅游管理、中医康复技术、运动训练、体育保健与康复。学院实行党委领导下的校长负责制，以立德树人为根本任务，围绕人才培养、技术研发、社会服务、文化传承、国际交流五大功能建设，立足区位优势，服务区域经济发展，致力于培养面向先进装备制造等第二产业和旅游文化、健康服务、数字经济等现代服务业的高素质技术技能人才。

The college initially offered 5 three-year specialist programs, namely Intelligent Optoelectronic Technology Application, Tourism Management, Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Technology, Sports Training, and Sports Health Care and Rehabilitation. The college implements the president responsibility system under the leadership of the Party Committee, with moral education as its fundamental task. It focuses on the five functions of talent cultivation, technological research and development, social service, cultural inheritance, and international exchange. Based on its regional advantages, it serves regional economic development and is committed to cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents for the secondary industry such as advanced equipment manufacturing and modern service industries such as tourism and culture, health services, and digital economy.
