浙江理工大学是一所以工为主，特色鲜明，优势突出，理、工、文、经、管、法、艺术、教育等多学科协调发展的省属重点建设大学。学校坐落于历史文化名城杭州市，前身是1897年创办的浙江蚕学馆，为中国最早创办的新学教育机构之一，开创了中国近代纺织高等教育的先河。

Zhejiang Sci-Tech University is a key provincial university with engineering as its main focus, distinctive characteristics, and outstanding advantages, developing coordinately in multiple disciplines such as science, engineering, literature, economics, management, law, art, and education. Located in Hangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city, the university was formerly known as Zhejiang Sericulture School founded in 1897, one of the earliest new-style educational institutions in China, pioneering modern textile higher education in China.

学校现有下沙、临平两个校区，占地面积2100余亩。设有20个学院（部），开设68个本科专业，拥有6个博士后科研流动站，7个一级学科博士学位授权点，25个一级学科硕士学位授权点，17个硕士专业学位授权类别。拥有1个国家重点（培育）学科，2个浙江省重中之重学科，3个浙江省“一流学科A类”，8个浙江省“一流学科B类”。

The university currently has two campuses, Xiasha and Linping, covering an area of more than 2,100 mu. It has 20 colleges (departments), offering 68 undergraduate majors, 6 post-doctoral research mobile stations, 7 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 25 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 17 master's professional degree authorization categories. It has 1 national key (cultivation) discipline, 2 key disciplines in Zhejiang Province, 3 "first-class disciplines (Class A)" in Zhejiang Province, and 8 "first-class disciplines (Class B)" in Zhejiang Province.

学校坚持立德树人根本任务，培养了大批具有家国情怀、国际视野、创新精神和实践能力的高素质人才。截至目前，学校全日制在校生33000余人，其中研究生7800余人。近五年来，学生在各类学科竞赛中获国际级奖项190余项、国家级奖项1300余项。毕业生就业率连续多年保持在全省高校前列，用人单位满意度持续提升。

学校大力推进科研创新，积极服务国家和区域经济社会发展。拥有1个国家地方联合工程研究中心，1个国家国际科技合作基地，3个教育部重点实验室（工程研究中心），1个文化和旅游部重点实验室，12个省级重点实验室（工程研究中心、科技创新服务平台）等一批高水平科研平台。近五年，承担国家级科研项目400余项，省部级科研项目800余项，获省部级以上科研奖励100余项。

The university vigorously promotes scientific research innovation and actively serves national and regional economic and social development. It has a number of high-level scientific research platforms such as 1 National Local Joint Engineering Research Center, 1 National International Science and Technology Cooperation Base, 3 Key Laboratories (Engineering Research Centers) of the Ministry of Education, 1 Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and 12 provincial Key Laboratories (Engineering Research Centers, Science and Technology Innovation Service Platforms). In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 400 national-level scientific research projects, more than 800 provincial-level scientific research projects, and won more than 100 scientific research awards above the provincial and ministerial level.
