浙大宁波理工学院成立于2001年6月，是由浙江省人民政府和宁波市人民政府合作共建，由浙江大学负责办学与管理的全日制普通本科院校。学校坚持“立足宁波、服务浙江、面向全国、走向世界”的办学定位，依托浙江大学的优质教育资源和学术力量，结合宁波的区域经济特色和产业优势，致力于培养具有创新精神和实践能力的高素质应用型人才。

Zhejiang University Ningbo Institute of Technology was founded in June 2001. It is a full-time ordinary undergraduate institution co-built by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province and the People's Government of Ningbo City, and operated and managed by Zhejiang University. Adhering to the school-running orientation of "rooted in Ningbo, serving Zhejiang, facing the whole country and going global", the university relies on the high-quality educational resources and academic strength of Zhejiang University, and combines with Ningbo's regional economic characteristics and industrial advantages to cultivate high-quality applied talents with innovative spirit and practical ability.

学校设有10个二级学院，涵盖工学、理学、经济学、管理学、文学、法学、艺术学等七大学科门类，开设41个本科专业。拥有一支由浙江大学资深教授、中青年学术骨干和行业专家组成的高水平师资队伍，其中高级职称教师占比超过40%，具有博士学位的教师占比近70%。学校注重学科建设与科研创新，拥有多个省级重点学科、一流专业和实验教学示范中心，积极开展产学研合作，为地方经济社会发展提供有力的人才支持和智力服务。

The university has 10 secondary colleges, covering seven disciplines including engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law and art, offering 41 undergraduate majors. It has a high-level faculty composed of senior professors, young and middle-aged academic backbones from Zhejiang University and industry experts, among whom more than 40% have senior professional titles and nearly 70% have doctoral degrees. Focusing on discipline construction and scientific research innovation, the university has multiple provincial key disciplines, first-class majors and experimental teaching demonstration centers. It actively carries out industry-university-research cooperation to provide strong talent support and intellectual services for local economic and social development.
