Zhoukou Normal University is a public undergraduate college affiliated to Henan Province, located in Zhoukou City, a famous historical and cultural city. Zhoukou is known as "the pioneer of China and the holy land of Jiuzhou". Fuxi, the ancestor of Chinese civilization, founded his capital here, and Laozi, the ancient thinker, was born here. Confucius traveled here to seek knowledge. Historical and cultural celebrities such as Xie An, Zhou Xingsi, Cheng Hao, and Yuan Shikai are all from Zhoukou. 学校始建于1973年，2002年经教育部批准升格为本科院校。现占地1600余亩，建筑面积76万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值4.3亿元，纸质藏书221.65万册，电子图书142.27万册。设有20个教学院（部），开设65个本科专业，涵盖文学、理学、工学、法学、历史学、教育学、管理学、经济学、艺术学、农学等10大学科门类，全日制在校生25041人。拥有3个国家级一流本科专业建设点、1个国家级特色专业、15个省级一流本科专业建设点，注重学生实践能力培养，建设各类实验室134个，校内外实践教学基地223个，获批国家级众创空间、省级大学科技园。

The university was founded in 1973 and was upgraded to an undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2002. It now covers an area of more than 1,600 mu, with a building area of 760,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 430 million yuan, with 2.2165 million paper books and 1.4227 million e-books. It has 20 teaching colleges (departments), offering 65 undergraduate majors covering 10 disciplines including literature, science, engineering, law, history, education, management, economics, art, and agriculture, with 25,041 full-time students. It has 3 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 1 national characteristic major, and 15 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. Focusing on cultivating students' practical ability, it has built 134 laboratories of various types and 223 off-campus practical teaching bases, and has been approved as a national mass innovation space and a provincial university science and technology park.
