北京联合大学是1985年经教育部批准成立的北京市属综合性大学，其前身是1978年北京市依靠清华大学、北京大学等创办的36所大学分校。学校以培养适应国家和首都经济社会发展需要的高素质应用型人才为己任，经过多年的建设与发展，已成为一所学科门类齐全、办学层次多样、师资力量雄厚、办学条件完善的市属重点高校。

Beijing Union University is a comprehensive university under the municipal government of Beijing, approved by the Ministry of Education in 1985. Its predecessor was 36 university branches founded by Beijing in 1978 relying on Tsinghua University, Peking University and other institutions. The university is committed to cultivating high-quality applied talents to meet the needs of national and capital economic and social development. After years of construction and development, it has become a key municipal university with complete disciplines, diverse educational levels, strong faculty and improved办学条件.

学校现有12个校区，分布在北京市的6个城区，形成了以北四环校区为中心，集中与分散相结合的办学布局。学校设有17个学院，开设60余个本科专业，涵盖经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、医学、管理学、艺术学等十大学科门类。学校拥有国家级特色专业建设点5个，北京市级特色专业建设点8个，北京市属高校一流专业10个。

The university currently has 12 campuses distributed in 6 urban districts of Beijing, forming a centralized and decentralized school-running layout with the North Fourth Ring Campus as the center. The university has 17 colleges and offers more than 60 undergraduate majors, covering ten disciplines including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, medicine, management, and art. The university has 5 national-level characteristic specialty construction sites, 8 Beijing municipal-level characteristic specialty construction sites, and 10 first-class majors of Beijing municipal universities.

学校坚持以教学为中心，大力推进教育教学改革，不断提高人才培养质量。近年来，学校获得国家级教学成果奖4项，北京市级教学成果奖30余项。学校注重实践教学，建有国家级实验教学示范中心1个，国家级虚拟仿真实验教学中心1个，北京市级实验教学示范中心6个，校级实验教学中心20个，为学生实践能力的培养提供了良好的条件。

The university adheres to the teaching-centered approach, vigorously promotes education and teaching reform, and continuously improves the quality of talent training. In recent years, the university has won 4 national teaching achievement awards and more than 30 Beijing municipal teaching achievement awards. The university attaches importance to practical teaching, and has built 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 national virtual simulation experimental teaching center, 6 Beijing municipal experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 20 university-level experimental teaching centers, providing good conditions for the cultivation of students' practical ability.

学校积极开展科学研究和社会服务，拥有北京市重点实验室3个，北京市工程研究中心2个，北京市哲学社会科学研究基地1个。学校坚持开放办学，与国内外100多所高校建立了校际合作关系，开展了广泛的学术交流和合作办学项目，为学生提供了广阔的国际视野和交流平台。

The university actively carries out scientific research and social services, with 3 key laboratories in Beijing, 2 engineering research centers in Beijing, and 1 philosophy and social science research base in Beijing. The university adheres to open education, has established inter-school cooperative relations with more than 100 universities at home and abroad, and carried out extensive academic exchanges and cooperative education projects, providing students with a broad international perspective and exchange platform.
