广东机电职业技术学院坐落在广州市白云区，是一所隶属于广东省教育厅的公办全日制工科类普通高等职业院校。学院办学历史悠久，前身为创建于1963年的广东省农业机械化技工学校，历经广东省农业机械技术学校、广东省农业机电学校、广东省机电学校等发展阶段。2001年，经广东省人民政府批准，学校升格为高等职业院校，翻开了快速发展的崭新篇章。

Guangdong Mechanical & Electrical Polytechnic is located in Baiyun District, Guangzhou City. It is a public full-time engineering vocational college affiliated to the Department of Education of Guangdong Province. With a long history, the college was formerly known as Guangdong Agricultural Mechanization Technical School founded in 1963, and has gone through several development stages such as Guangdong Agricultural Machinery Technical School, Guangdong Agricultural Electromechanical School, and Guangdong Electromechanical School. In 2001, approved by the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the school was upgraded to a higher vocational college, opening a new chapter of rapid development.

学院是国家双高计划建设单位、国家优质高职院校、广东省一流高职院校建设单位、广东省示范性高职院校、教育部第一批示范性职业教育集团（联盟）培育单位（牵头单位）等。现有全日制在校生18000多人，辖有南、北两个校区，校园总面积达807亩，校舍建筑面积30万平方米。设有十院一部，开设专业44个，形成以先进制造业专业群为主体，电子信息业和现代服务业专业群为两翼的专业格局。

The college is a national "Double High Plan" construction unit, a national high-quality vocational college, a construction unit of Guangdong first-class vocational colleges, a demonstration vocational college in Guangdong Province, and the first batch of demonstration vocational education group (alliance) cultivation units (leading unit) of the Ministry of Education. It currently has more than 18,000 full-time students and two campuses (South and North). The total campus area is 807 mu, with a building area of 300,000 square meters. It has ten schools and one department, offering 44 majors, forming a professional pattern with advanced manufacturing professional groups as the main body, and electronic information and modern service industry professional groups as the two wings.
