海南科技职业大学创办于2007年5月，2018年12月升格为全日制本科高等院校，2019年5月教育部正式批准更名为海南科技职业大学，是全国首批15所职业本科试点改革院校之一。学校位于海南省海口市，现有美兰和云龙两个校区，秉承“科学、务实、厚德、创新”的校训，坚持“人才强校，质量立校，特色兴校”的办学理念，以立德树人为根本，以服务海南经济社会发展为宗旨，以就业为导向，建成了以石油化工、航海技术、机械智能制造、信息工程等工科为主，兼顾医学、管理学等学科协调发展的专业体系。

Hainan Vocational University of Science and Technology was founded in May 2007. It was upgraded to a full-time undergraduate institution in December 2018 and officially renamed by the Ministry of Education in May 2019. It is one of the first 15 pilot reform universities for vocational undergraduate education in China. Located in Haikou City, Hainan Province, the university has two campuses: Meilan and Yunlong. Adhering to the school motto of "Science, Pragmatism, Virtue, Innovation" and the educational philosophy of "Strengthening the University with Talents, Establishing the University with Quality, and Prosperishing the University with Characteristics", it takes moral education as the foundation, serves the economic and social development of Hainan as its purpose, and is employment-oriented. It has built a professional system dominated by engineering disciplines such as petrochemical engineering, navigation technology, mechanical intelligent manufacturing, and information engineering, while also developing medical and management disciplines in a coordinated manner.

学校现设有机电工程学院、信息工程学院、化学与材料工程学院、海事学院等11个二级学院和2个教学部，开设28个本科专业和51个高职专科专业，涵盖工学、理学、管理学、艺术学、经济学、教育学六大学科门类。在校生近3万人，专任教师1989人，其中双师型教师占比54.73%。学校深入推进产教融合、校企合作，建有国家级高水平专业群1个、省级高水平专业群2个，获国家级骨干专业2个、省级特色专业2个，入选教育部“双千计划”微专业3个，致力于培养高层次技术技能型人才，毕业生历年就业率均保持在96%以上。

The university currently has 11 secondary colleges, including the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, College of Information Engineering, College of Chemistry and Materials Engineering, and College of Maritime Affairs, as well as 2 teaching departments. It offers 28 undergraduate programs and 51 higher vocational programs, covering six disciplines: engineering, science, management, art, economics, and education. There are nearly 30,000 students and 1,989 full-time teachers, among whom "double-qualified" teachers account for 54.73%. The university deeply promotes industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, with 1 national high-level professional group, 2 provincial high-level professional groups, 2 national key majors, 2 provincial characteristic majors, and 3 micro-majors selected into the Ministry of Education's "Double Thousand Plan". It is committed to cultivating high-level technical and skilled talents, with the employment rate of graduates remaining above 96% over the years.
