广东邮电职业技术学院始建于1949年11月22日，前身是被誉为“广东邮电黄埔军校”的广东省邮电学校，2002年经广东省人民政府批准升格为普通高等职业院校，是广东省内唯一的公办全日制通信类高职院校，省域高水平高职院校培育单位。学校入选教育部首批职业院校校长培训基地、教育部职业教育双师型教师培训基地、全国邮政行业培训基地等全国性培训基地，也是全国首批现代学徒制试点单位。

Guangdong Vocational College of Post and Telecommunications was founded on November 22, 1949. Its predecessor, Guangdong Post and Telecommunications School, was praised as the "Huangpu Military Academy of Guangdong Post and Telecommunications". Approved by the People's Government of Guangdong Province in 2002, it was upgraded to a regular higher vocational college. It is the only public full-time communications vocational college in Guangdong Province and a cultivation unit for provincial high-level vocational colleges. The college has been selected into national training bases such as the first batch of vocational college principal training bases of the Ministry of Education, the dual-qualified teacher training base for vocational education of the Ministry of Education, and the national postal industry training base. It is also one of the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units in China.

学校分设广州、江门两个校区，广州校区位于天河区中山大道西191号，江门校区位于蓬江区潮连连荷路25号。设有信息与通信工程、移动通信、计算机、经济管理等二级学院，开设现代通信技术、计算机应用技术、工商企业管理等20余个专业，形成了以通信类专业为核心的特色专业群。学校与多所本科院校开展三二分段专升本协同育人项目，为学生搭建学历提升通道，同时构建了学历教育与在职培训融合发展的办学模式，年培训服务量达58万人日。

The college has two campuses in Guangzhou and Jiangmen. The Guangzhou Campus is located at No. 191 West Zhongshan Avenue, Tianhe District, and the Jiangmen Campus is at No. 25 Lianhe Road, Chaolian, Pengjiang District. It has secondary colleges such as Information and Communication Engineering, Mobile Communications, Computer Science, and Economic Management, offering over 20 majors including Modern Communication Technology, Computer Application Technology, and Business Enterprise Management, forming a characteristic professional cluster with communication-related majors as the core. The college carries out three-two segment undergraduate upgrading collaborative education programs with multiple undergraduate universities to provide students with academic improvement channels. It also has established a school-running model integrating academic education and on-the-job training, with an annual training service volume of 580,000 person-days.
