广西民族大学地处广西首府南宁，是国家民族事务委员会和广西壮族自治区人民政府共建高校。学校创建于1952年3月，前身是中央民族学院（今中央民族大学）广西分院，历经多次更名，2006年2月正式定名为广西民族大学。学校现有相思湖、思源湖和武鸣三个校区，占地面积约3600亩，校园环境幽美静谧，建筑风格古朴典雅，具有鲜明的壮乡民族特色和东南亚异域风情，曾入选《环球人文地理》中国九所最富有诗情画意的大学之一。

Guangxi Minzu University is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is a university jointly built by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Founded in March 1952, its predecessor was the Guangxi Branch of Central University for Nationalities (now Minzu University of China). After several name changes, it was officially named Guangxi Minzu University in February 2006. The university now has three campuses: Xiangsihu, Siyuanhu and Wuming, covering an area of about 3,600 mu. The campus environment is beautiful and quiet, with elegant architectural style, distinctive Zhuang ethnic characteristics and Southeast Asian exotic customs. It was once selected as one of the nine most poetic universities in China by "Global Human Geography".

学校学科特色鲜明，优势突出，现涵盖经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、医学、管理学、艺术学、交叉学科等11个学科门类，拥有5个一级学科博士学位授权点、20个一级学科硕士学位授权点，工程学、化学学科进入ESI全球排名前1%。作为广西开设东盟语种最早和最多的高校，学校开设有越南语、老挝语、泰语等7个非通用语种本科专业，建有中国-东盟文化交流与发展协同创新中心等多个科研平台，在服务国家“一带一路”倡议和广西开放开发大局中发挥着重要作用。

The university has distinctive disciplinary characteristics and outstanding advantages. It now covers 11 disciplines including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, medicine, management, art, and interdisciplinary subjects. It has 5 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points and 20 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points. Engineering and chemistry disciplines have entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings. As the university in Guangxi that offers the earliest and most ASEAN languages, it offers 7 undergraduate majors in non-common languages such as Vietnamese, Lao, and Thai, and has established multiple scientific research platforms such as the Collaborative Innovation Center for China-ASEAN Cultural Exchange and Development. It plays an important role in serving the national "Belt and Road" initiative and Guangxi's opening up and development.
