贵州大学是贵州省属重点综合性大学，是国家“双一流”建设高校、“211工程”大学，由教育部与贵州省人民政府共建。学校创办于1902年，历经贵州大学堂、省立贵州大学、国立贵州农工学院等时期，1950年定名为贵州大学，2004年与贵州工业大学合并组建新的贵州大学。学校现有花溪、西校区等多个校区，占地面积4646亩，全日制本科生、研究生及留学生3万余人，教职工3900余人。

Guizhou University is a key comprehensive university in Guizhou Province, a national "Double First-Class" construction university and a "211 Project" university, co-constructed by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Guizhou Province. Founded in 1902, the university has gone through periods such as Guizhou University Hall, Provincial Guizhou University, and National Guizhou Agricultural and Technical College. It was renamed Guizhou University in 1950 and merged with Guizhou University of Technology to form the new Guizhou University in 2004. The university currently has multiple campuses including Huaxi and West Campus, covering an area of 4,646 mu, with over 30,000 full-time undergraduates, postgraduates and international students, and more than 3,900 faculty members.

It has 1 national key discipline, 8 first-class domestic construction disciplines, and 7 regional first-class construction disciplines. Adhering to the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and talents, the university focuses on scientific and technological innovation and social services. It has multiple national-level scientific research platforms such as the National Engineering Technology Research Center and the National Local Joint Engineering Laboratory, and has formed distinctive advantages in fields such as big data, mountain agriculture, and karst ecology.
