湖南城建职业技术学院始建于1958年，是湖南省人民政府批准、教育部备案的公办全日制高等职业院校，是湖南省示范性高职院校、湖南省卓越高职院校、湖南省楚怡“双高计划”建设单位、湖南省“楚怡工匠计划”试点高校，被誉为湖南建设人才的摇篮和百万建筑湘军的“黄埔军校”。学院坐落于湖南省湘潭市，现有两个校区，总占地面积约600亩，设有建筑工程学院、工程管理学院等7个二级学院，开设40余个高职专业，其中建筑工程技术、工程造价、建筑装饰工程技术等为重点建设专业。

Hunan Urban Construction College, founded in 1958, is a public full-time higher vocational college approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. It is a Demonstrative Higher Vocational College in Hunan Province, an Excellent Higher Vocational College in Hunan Province, a construction unit of the "Double High Plan" of Chuyi in Hunan Province, and a pilot college of the "Chuyi Craftsman Plan" in Hunan Province. It is known as the cradle of Hunan's construction talents and the "Whampoa Military Academy" of millions of construction workers in Hunan. Located in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, the college has two campuses with a total area of about 600 mu. It has 7 secondary colleges including the School of Civil Engineering and the School of Engineering Management, offering more than 40 higher vocational majors, among which construction engineering technology, engineering cost, and architectural decoration engineering technology are key construction majors.

学院紧密对接产业升级和技术变革趋势，构建了覆盖建筑业全产业链的优势专业集群，建筑设计、建筑工程技术、工程造价3个专业群入选湖南省楚怡高水平专业群建设计划（A档）。近年来荣获国家级教学成果奖3项、省级教学成果奖10余项，师生在职业院校技能大赛中获全国一等奖30余项。学院是全国建设行业技能型紧缺人才培养培训基地、全国首批1+X证书制度试点院校，先后获评全国五四红旗团委、湖南省文明校园等荣誉称号。

Closely following the trend of industrial upgrading and technological transformation, the college has built an advantageous professional cluster covering the entire industrial chain of the construction industry. Three professional groups, namely architectural design, construction engineering technology, and engineering cost, have been selected into the Chuyi High-level Professional Group Construction Plan (Grade A) in Hunan Province. In recent years, it has won 3 national teaching achievement awards and more than 10 provincial teaching achievement awards. Teachers and students have won more than 30 national first prizes in vocational college skills competitions. The college is a training base for skilled talents in the national construction industry and one of the first batch of pilot colleges for the 1+X certificate system in China. It has been awarded the honorary titles of National May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee and Civilized Campus in Hunan Province.
