Karamay Vocational & Technical College is a comprehensive full-time public college with a long history and profound heritage, focusing on engineering and featuring petroleum and petrochemical specialties. Born and thriving because of oil, the college originated from Urumqi Petroleum School founded in 1956. Over the past 69 years since its establishment, the college has fully implemented the Party's educational policy, kept in mind its original mission of serving the national energy strategy, adhered to moral education and technical training, served the all-round development of students and economic and social development, and upheld the school motto of "Virtue, Ability, Practicality and Innovation". 学院是国家示范性高等职业院校、自治区优质高等职业学校，现有克拉玛依、独山子两个校区，占地面积3075.6亩，建筑面积47.34万平方米。开设39个高职专业、14个五年制专业和10个中职专业，构建了钻井技术、石油化工技术、电气自动化技术等7大专业群，建成10个国家级骨干专业、6个自治区级特色专业，拥有6个国家级实训基地、1个国家级“双师型”教师培养培训基地，形成了以石油石化为特色、多学科协调发展的办学格局。

The college is a national demonstration higher vocational college and an autonomous region-level high-quality higher vocational school, with two campuses in Karamay and Dushanzi, covering an area of 3075.6 mu and a building area of 473,400 square meters. It offers 39 higher vocational majors, 14 five-year majors and 10 secondary vocational majors, and has built 7 major professional groups including drilling technology, petrochemical technology, and electrical automation technology.
